Last night, many of us read the thread wherein Petronski announced his coming marriage to madame Cyborg. (Check DRUDGE: Unnamed Senior White House source: Cyborg and Petronski to be married...). During the course of the Cyborg-Petronski Thread, the subject of a Free Republic feature wherein single Freepers can meet their fellow conservatives.
I have a simple proposition. We could start a regular thread akin to the Freeper Canteen. Such a regular thread could serve as an opportunity for single Freepers to engage in Virtual Mingling. Also, any Freepers who have single, conservative offspring would be welcome to participate so as to arrange for introductions for their kids.
Special note to Jim: Just think of how many conservative would not have met fellow right-minded folks had it not been for FR! Cyborg and Petronski owe you one.
Thanks!
I'm glad you had fun!
The Pitts is a wonderful machine. I'm lucky to have the opportunity to fly her!
Great idea.
Congratulations to Cyborg and Petronski! I love it - a FReeper wedding.
I'm a single FReeper, but I'm what is considered in dating lingo as "Geographically Undesirable" or "GU."
;-)
I remember someone talking about this a while ago. It's a good idea :-) FReeper wedding is right. My mom and I almost had WW3 over who was walking me down the aisle :o) She doesn't get the whole internet family thing. When are you coming home?
So what does "Likes to take walks on the beach" mean?
Seems like every singles ad has that phrase in it.
Let's just say I should be home for good by June 2006. ;-)
I think this is so cool! Do you and your betrothed live in the same area?
So what does "Likes to take walks on the beach" mean?
It mean's they are into Surf Fishing!
He lives in PA... it's a five hour commute. I'm twiddling my thumbs and thinking I should brush my teeth and comb my hair before he gets here hehehe. My mom is having a tea party today and is acting like a diva. I think she'll be the bridezilla not me!
I think this is a great idea! I would love to meet a fellow single Freeper. I'm a 48 year old divorced female living in north Alabama.
It looks like I finally was asleep by the time you responded. But I was still up early this morning. ;-)
Ooooh! I like those odds! :-)
Oh, that sounds like fun! Has your mother met him before? Are you the only daughter so that Mother can lavish all of that wedding preparation energy on your wedding alone? ;-)
I wonder if this is the first match made in FReeper Heaven?
We're looking for a potential spouse for my widowed sister. Any guy who would get her would be getting a gem. She's 57, nice looking and extremely conservative and a Christian. Her criteria for a husband is to be a Christian and a conservative.
Those are pretty good odds. :-)
My mom heard he was a lawyer and loved him immediately ;-) I have a younger sister but she's into college and eschews all boys. I know hairofthedog met her husand on FR.
Likes to take walks on the beach means => SO DESPERATE-- I don't mind getting sand in my shoes if there is a chance of WOOOWOOO in my future!
ROFL! I suspected it meant something along those lines.
I'm working on mine. I've never written one of these before.
"Single female, old enough to remember when you had to get up and walk across the room to change channels on the TV and by the way, there were only about four channels.
Hates walks on the beach and besides, where is the beach?. How many people who put that hackneyed phrase into their ads really live in Kansas? Hmmmmm?"
How's that for a start?
I read that and thought - "You're single, aren't you!"
Let's put our creative Sales Hats on and try this again...
Try this...
"Adventurous woman with a great sense of humor and more friends than I can count is looking for a special guy to share the fun. "
Petronski's a lawyer?
Had I only known - I would have made a play for him myself!!!!
(giggle!)
Heh...but you know the old saying...the odds are good, but the goods are odd!
Just kiddin'.
I've found that to be true in the past. LOL!
