I have a feeling that JKR is sitting in her castle, reading this and many other threads and laughing hysterically.

LOL! I think it was on her website last year sometime that she actually went into a Harry Potter chat room and gave out her theories about what was going to happen and no one believed her! She told them that she was JK Rowling and again no one believed her. So she gave up and then started talking about Sponge Bob Squarepants.

The kid from Mugglenet.com and the girl from the-leaky-cauldron.org interviewed JKR (Link)and she gives some really interesting answers to their questions. Check this one out:

ES: I know Dumbledore likes to see the good in people but he seems trusting almost to the point of recklessness sometimes.

[Laughter] Yes, I would agree. I would agree.

ES: How can someone so -

JKR: Intelligent -

ES: be so blind with regard to certain things?

JKR: Well, there is information on that to come, in seven. But I would say that I think it has been demonstrated, particularly in books five and six that immense brainpower does not protect you from emotional mistakes and I think Dumbledore really exemplifies that. In fact, I would tend to think that being very, very intelligent might create some problems and it has done for Dumbledore, because his wisdom has isolated him, and I think you can see that in the books, because where is his equal, where is his confidante, where is his partner? He has none of those things. He’s always the one who gives, he’s always the one who has the insight and has the knowledge. So I think that, while I ask the reader to accept that McGonagall is a very worthy second in command, she is not an equal. You have a slightly circuitous answer, but I can't get much closer than that.

She also give a very interesting answer as to why Voldemort gave Lily a chance to live. Looks like we may be hearing more about that in the future.

I love Mugglenet. I read Emerson's interview with her.

I guess I should locate my username one of these days. Hehe!!

For some reason, I just can't believe that Snape is completely bad. Perhaps, it's because I've spent enough time loathing him throughout all the books.

I actually *GASP* felt sorry for Draco at the end of the book. What a horrible *situation* he was put in.

This book definitely changed certain perceptions I had of some of the characters. I was sorry to see that Neville didn't play a bigger part, but I'm sure there's more to come from him in Book 7.

And I really want to know more about Petunia's knowledge of the Wizarding world.

Also, curious to see that Mark Evans didn't play any role in this book. I know that after Book 5 that Mugglenet.com was ablaze with theories that he was going to be important in Book 6. I think we can now lay that to rest. No telling for Book 7.

I really enjoy reading everyone's opinions and thoughts. Keep'em coming!!

Oh!! Does Fleur annoy anyone else? I just wanted to smack that chick upside the head by the time the book was over. I admire her commitment to Bill, but she worked my last nerve.

THANK GOD FOR NO CHO and HARRY in this book! WooHoo!! I was sick of that *whatever* when it started. Hehe!

I read someplace that JKR has already been asked about Mark Evans, and she said that he wasn't relevant at all to the plot.

She loves to place red herrings in the books, and perhaps this is one of them.

What were your impressions of the book? If you commented earlier, I'm sorry I didn't read it. I haven't had time to go all the way through this thread.

How've you been?
*HUGS*

I read that as well, but you know people sometimes get over excited about those red herrings.

I just laughed when I realized they wasted a lot of energy focusing on him. However, it was really cool to read all the theories at Mugglenet at the time.

Some of those folks really do have great theories.

Many people I have talked to think DD was pleading for his life, when Harry heard, "Please, Snape". I think it's the opposite. DD was pleading with Snape to take his life.

I agree.

I'd also like to know what awful thing DD saw when he had to drink the potion protecting the fake horcrux.

Regards,

You are not kidding. An acquaintance of mine (who happens to be a Wiccan High Priestess and a devotee of Celtic mythology -- no, we do not see eye-to-eye on much, but I enjoy her company nevertheless) is firmly convinced that Dumbledore is alive. She is so much better than I am at picking up clues, and I just love hearing what she has to say about these boos.

Yeah! I don't think I could see eye to eye on many things either. LOL!

I'm really curious--what's her theory about Dumbledore??

Please share if you can!!

((((HUGS)))) Back at you!

My impressions of the book?

I thought AH! The plot thickens!

It's getting interesting ( not saying the other five books weren't interesting!) But I'm sorry Harry had broke off with Ginny.

(Somehow I don't think that's the end of them)

What really, really annoyed me with her was when she was making fun of Molly's favorite singers. Molly had such special memories of those songs and Fleur was just acting like a jerk.

She definitely *endeared* herself to her future mother in law with those comments, huh? LOL!!

I just kept telling myself.."MoJo..she's french! she's french..that's why she's annoying." Hehe!

I think the nickname was spot on. We should probably just refer to her as Phlegm from now on. Her comment that she was beautiful enough for the both of them made me laugh.

By the way thediscussion of the tatoo for Harry and Ron's pygmy puff tatoo made me burst out laughing too. I was glad I was alone in the room.

There are sooo many entries on here, I don't want to go through each one. Someone mentioned earlier that a Rowling interview stated that an observant reader would be able to see what was in the next book by the clues on he last page. Is there a source for this info.?

I just gotta know...who is Mark Evans? Obviously a relative of Lily's but I don't recall the name whatsoever.

I guess that NOT knowing is okay, if Rowling has basically called him irrelevant.

She said that all the clues for the last book are in the first 6. Here is the link for the interview. Petunia overhearing a conversation about the dementors seems to be important as well.
