THIS THREAD IS INTENDED FOR READERS THAT HAVE COMPLETED THE BOOK! If you have not yet read the book, consider yourself warned: There will be spoilers on this thread.
For my fellow FReepers who have no intention of reading the book but would like to discuss the more controversial issues related to the work, I am asking you as politely as I can: DO NOT HIJACK THIS THREAD. We are all members of this forum and as such, it is not up to me to disallow anyone from participating in the discussion. That is why I am asking you--please do not hijack this thread. If you would like to discuss the more controversial aspects of the book, maybe you could start your own thread and ping us over there. If we are interested, we'll come.
I think Kreacher has it. Remember how he kept swiping stuff that they thought they had thrown away? Like Bellatrix' picture?
Add me to yor Potter Ping please!
Read the last one last night. Up to date! :) thanks
I keep checking back in. As more FReepers finish the book, more theories are brought into the discussion. FReeper Rutabega brought up an interesting point last night, about the horcruxes possibly having varied values. I think the post was between 285 and 300. Very interesting, indeed!
It was thrown away, & Harry sees George take it from the garbarge,,,.
Done!
My money is on Kreatcher, though.
I've got to stop lending out books!
argh!!!!!!!!!! lol!
There was a locket that "nobody could open", mentioned just in passing. I think it went to the rubbish bag, where Kreacher removed it.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I suggest they check his "den".
Wonder what's become of all of Kreatcher's things? Are house elfs allowed to take their belongings with them when they move from place to place? The locket might be at Hogwarts.
Thought I read something about that.
HEM! HEM!
What about that hole in your basement..........
oops!
That was a box, not a locket. There is a heavy locket that no one could open referred to on p. 116, the last paragraph. It was supposedly thrown into a sack and thrown out. I am willing to bet that Kreacher snagged it.
HP discussion about actual content, if you're interested. Major spoiler alert!
I am a stay at home mom, actually, where are my kids....LOL!!
I have all my books at my fingertips, so it is easy to look things up. I have read the first 5 three times and I reread OOTP last week just to brush up on the subject. I am sure that I will read HBP again in the next couple of weeks. I will admit that I tried to read it so quickly, I am sure I missed stuff in that. After reading so many different thoughts of other people, I am seeing conspiracies everywhere!! It doesn't help that JKR can mention something in passing in another book and it can have a huge future impact. If only we could know what is a nice anecdote and what is a real future plot twist!
I'm going to be listening to OOTP again on our trip to Japan. I'll have to pay closer attention to the items mentioned while they're at Sirius's house.
??? Is that you Professor Umbridge?
*ducking*
If Hermione has anything to do with it, I'm sure they can. ;-)
The locket might be at Hogwarts.
There's also the possibility that Mundungus Fletcher nicked it and either has sold it or will try to sell it. Remember, Harry's found out that he's stolen Black family property from 12 Grimmauld Place and is attempting to sell it and pocket the money himself.
You better duck! ;o)
