Yesterday the Republican National Committee called asking me to become a lifetime supporter. I explained that I will no longer provide financial support until G.W. stops the flood of illegal aliens crossing our borders. The caller responded that no one knows what G.W. is really doing because of the media bias. I agreed with some of that statement, however, I explained that I do not base my opinions on what the media tells me. The caller said that she did not want to listen any longer and hung up on me.
Duh!
What a way for the GOP to gain support!
Did the caller have an Indian accent and sound like she was reading from a script?
Yeah..the NRSC hasn't figured out how to field that question either. I hope you didn't swear at the RNC chick. They hate that.
That's OK. Hillary will save us from the illegals. :^)
She hung up on you because the other phone was ringing off the hook from Mexico wanting to contribute $$$$.
"Did the caller have an Indian accent and sound like she was reading from a script?"
Yes, Vig, she did have an accent, and sounded like the usual suspect that you get when you call outsourced tech-support.
Yea, thats the only issue that the Republicans are good for... /sarcasm
You're lucky. I wish I could get rid of solicitation callers that easily.
The sad thing is that neither of the two major parties want to stop illegal immigration. I think we will know which wsay the wind blows by President Bush's SC nominees. We'll know if 8 years of bending over has been worth it or not.
They always ask me about giving the Republicans the majority and I answer "We did, the Presidencey, the Senate, AND the House, what do we have to show for it?"
Outsourcing volunteers, LOL, what next, illegal immigrant volunteers calling the calls that no Americans will call.
These people are paid to make calls and raise money.
If I was signing their checks, I would not want to pay them $8-$10 per hour to debate public policy with everyone they talk to.
Just an employer talking here... but I would teach them to politely move on to the next person on the list and keep moving.
Wow, is that where the high paying jobs have gone? Telephone soliciting?
I just tell them that they called at a bad time and could they please call later, then I start with the lustful moaning and shouting punctuated with grunts and growls.
The phone solicitors usually hang up.
If they don't, they usually sit in horrifed silence on the other end and forget the sales spiel.
Haven't had the RNC phone ops be annoying enough for me to do that to.
Some people I know who do outbound make a killing at it. Regular wages are high to begin with and then there are commissions and bonuses for good percentages of successful solicitation.
I was making about 8.5 an hour when I did it (20 hrs a wk/no weekends) but I hated it and only lasted two weeks.
I ain't 'givin 'nothin unless it's for candidates 'runnin in primaries AGAINST our 7, 'stinkin RINO's! Those 2 hags in ME 'gotta go... I believe ken50-50 dubbed them The Pigeon Sisters'. HA!
I also got a call this week and he was definitely reading from a script. And he was pushy... impolite and did I mention pushy.
I ended up hanging up on him.
I don't want people calling me at home. That's why I am on the Do Not Call list. I don't care who it is. I give what I give when I give it.
By the way - how does the RNC get around that little Do Not Call list thingy?
Because when our representatives pushed through that legislation they managed to exempt political solicitation. Not that our elected officials are hypocritical or anything.
