As if Jessica Simpson wasn't enough reason to skip this movie.

Ben Jones, a wisecracking mechanic on the popular series from 1979-85 played the part of a Georgia congressman .

Ahh Cooter, I knew him in the old days.......
when he was a drunk, out of work poet/"actor".

I watched the show, but it was only because I thought Luke Duke was a hottie. :-)

I'd rather watch the Coy and Vance season again than this movie.

And I thought Jessica Simpson was the only reason to go. In my expert opinion her "Boots are made for Walking" video is like "The Godfather" of music videos.

Cooter's got a point. The television show was wholesome and more family oriented. Plus the characters have that adultness to them. Looking at Johnny Knoxville and that other guy, they look like a couple of teens.

Denver Pyle could not be reached for his comments on the matter.

I had a small part in the made-for-tv Dukes of Hazard movie a year or two ago. I got to work with one of the original cast members and did a funny bit with him.

Some of the most fun I've ever had. Great people. I'd like to say I was a little disappointed that the movie did not bring back some of that cast. They took the name of the show for this movie- and not much else.

Sure, like the TV series didn't play up Catherine Bach's good looks:
