The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh...you've been reading Evanovich, right? Not that that's really quite the same sort of thing...but from the one book I read, I can kind of imagine shoes being part of the plot. ;-) Darn Tootin'. Evanovich is up on a pedestal.
But I think my character will have a bigger personal growth arc than Evanovich ever writes. Heroine will start off kind of ditzy, but as she gets scared she'll get determined and very brave. I hope she'll be a very different person at the end of it.

The profiler's temporary name is Agent Hot Stuff (at least until I come up with a real name). Enrique Caliente

Okay, I had a phone interview today, with a company that would let me do customer service and systems analysis. The job would be cool.
The phone interview went weird. I was told to reserve 30mins, and it was all I could do to stretch it to 15mins. so here's the "thank you" email I'm sending her:
Brittany:
Thank you for taking the time today to discuss the customer service representative positon at Cool Company with me. After speaking with you, I am even more interested in this position. I believe my breadth of experience in both the programming and technical support arenas would coincide well with Cool Company's needs.
I look forward to hearing from you concerning your hiring decision. Again, thank you for your time and consideration.

Yikes! Well, I can say we have never had any complaints in that aera. elf-boy knows not to put any of the water in his mouth, too. That said, I sure hope that doesn't ever visit our park.
To: Rose in RoseBear
Prayers up.
Do you want me to call Brittany and tell her your muh hero?

<laughing> Thank you, Corin!
Will that email do, or should I just dislocate my shoulder and pat myself on the back even more?

I'm think that if the missed calls were job related, they would have left some sort of message. Don't fret! ;o)
