The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Like the time she wouldn't watch the jedis for me so Steve and I could go see Hitchhiker's Guide. She said she'd have to check and see if the movie was "all right" first.I remembered that. Thought it was kinda strange and manipulative at the time.

she kept sticking her fingers up the spout to see where the water was coming from. She got hold of the screw driver and proceeded to "help".
Oh yeah... Engineer in training, right there. ;)

I'ms sorry about your pinky! Put some antibiotic ointment on it, cover it with a bandaid, and it will be healed in no time!!

Right.
I'm a good friend, Suzi...I don't give up on my friends easily even when they're not exactly good to me. I'm pretty loyal.
But seeds of doubt in her had already been planted. Although it still broke my heart...it really isn't completely surprising.

When I drove Jr. and his friend over to go kayaking, there were signs that said "It is illegal to feed bears from car."
What's really sad is that a sign was needed.

Heh...well, folks I've played with in the past have been known to use super glue on cuts. Seals it, gives you a kinda fake callus.
But I dunno if I'm that desperate.
It's not on the very tip. So I can play slowly and carefully. But still...not fair!
Guess I'll run out to run errands and buy some bandaids while I'm about it. Or super glue. Or something. ;-)

Yeah...like it's even any of her business what adult friends choose to watch. I remember reading that and wondering if I misunderstood what was said.

Super glue is good. I've used the sticky remnants from printer-label sheets to serve as temporary bandaids for paper cuts, the adhesive makes it feel better.

I haven't used super glue on cuts. But whiteout works pretty well on poison ivy...

Rosie, there is a stuff that is sold now that IS superglue for cuts! It's GREAT! And it's sterile...unlike normal superglue.

Do you think a normal grocery story pharmacy would carry it? I'm runnin' out to King Soopers here in a minute...
There's also a Walgreen's over there, for that matter.
Do you know what it's called?

Windex doesn't seal. And she's not Greek, either.

LOL, funny you mention that. My dad did that once. He played mando, banjo, guitar, and fiddle. His favorite was the fiddle, I think. Well, at least that was the one he played most often. I loved his banjo. I wish I knew what happened to it.
BTW, elf-boy has expressed an interest in learning guitar.
