HEAAALLP!!!
All of a sudden everything opens in adobe Acrobat, or tries to. I mean everything, I can't open the friggin' control panel. I uninstalled a few programs today, installed Firefox, and reinstall the latest versions of the Java JRE and JDK, but that's it and it was fine ten minutes ago. Google's no help. Either of you ever seen this?

yuh think?... Oh by that point this afternoon, I had not yet begun to be hostile. The story continues...
After chatting back and forth with the treasurer and secretary, I agreed it best for me to play out the role for the next two weeks. The general membership doesn't really need to know all of this.
So...I sent a lengthy email back to this guy and tell him that I thought he was out of line. But then I offer a good bit of advice about how things work, tell him I'll be available to help when I can, and tell him I want to help him avoid the mistakes I made.
None of that registers. I get a repeat of the "childish and unprofessional line."
So, I respond: "I'll get the files to B... Best of luck."
Then I follow up with a thorough email to the current Board, letting them know that what I want to do is take a hike, but that I'll work with THEM through Labor Day.
I told 'em, "You picked this guy. He's your baby."
Then I told 'em that he plans to eliminate the debt AND fix the pool next year.
*snort*
Last thing I told 'em was that I'd buy the champagne. This is gonna be sooooooo much fun to watch.
(I gotta go, there's a line for the 'puter)

Whew. Cancel the screaming panic. Managed to delete Acrobat manually and now it's not trying *that* cute little trick. I was seriesly worried there.
Now I have to figure out *why* it did that. I need to read PDFs fairly frequently...

Dunno, Jen, sounds like Adobe's registry settings may have had a problem ... you might want to try setting a restore point and reinstalling it ... see what happens ...

I thought it could be a registry setting but since I couldn't get to the registry... just glad I could kill adobe.
