New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
and speaking of pup, we have one that is wondering if she is going to get her walk..

Heh...that's kinda cool, in a twisted sort of way.
On the flip side, I knew a family with a goat (pygmy, even) named Jedi. That's just...silly.
Heh, sounds good, hard sylables. I've heard Vader before..somewhere..don't recall where, though.
We had to send our conservation friend a pic of the snakes...it seems that there has never been a documented timber rattler in this county. That's because people around here just kill 'em and don't say anything.
Mrsnad
That would be short for Darthvader...from Star Wars...
Mrsnad
Our whole family is cool in a twisted sort of way...
Been thinking about you...hang in there.
Mrsnad
Vader.... is the dog a girl?
Thanks...I appreciate it.
He did it too! I was just amazed. He just pulled out all the teeth that were bothering him! He's got one more that's not very loose and not bothering him, but he said he's gonna pull it too as soon as he can!
He bled like a stuck pig, too...he'd just grin at me with his mouth full of blood.
So afterward, I sat with him on the bed and told him I felt bad that I couldn't help him but that it was the only thing that made me sick. Then I proceeded to tell him a few really gross stories from my nursing career so he wouldn't think I was a wimp. He really likes it when I do that.
~sigh~ A squirrel crawled up in our yard and died after getting slightly hit by a car. Died a couple days ago. I just now put it in a bag and put it in the trash.
Probably shoulda done that right off the bat...yeah, I probably shouldn'ta left it like that.
Vader!! Great name!
Isabelle is broody. I took her out of the nest box and put her in a cage with a roost (no nest box) food and water and cover. Gonna give that 24 hours, then if that doesn't work, I'm going to move the cage into the garage with the light on round the clock. That should do it.
We only have three layers...we don't want her taking a break!
Got back from TheCape this evening. I didn't bring the 'puter so I'll catch up now.
Anyway....Tuesday was not a "beach day" so we went to Provincetown and walked around and shopped. Caught part of the freak show. We went to the public library where I found that there were indeed posts waiting for me. I didn't have time to catch up on posts but I did set FReerepublic as the homepage on one of their computers...hehehe.
Went to the beach on Wednesday and then to Capt. Pinneman's house (whaling captain dude.) Had a shindig with the folks across the street Wednesday and just hung out today.
I'll go check up on posts now.
Hey! I was just thinkin' about you...did you see the squirrel story up above?
~sigh~
Still on dial-up here. I'm so disappointed.
DSL guy shoulda been here between 11am and 2pm, so naturally he shows up at 4:45pm. *rolls eyes*
After much puttering around inside and out, it is discovered that the green phone wire running through the house is useless. It either shorted out or was never good to begin with.
Anyway, he drills a hole through the wall in my mom's room and says I can either put my computer in there or he'll run a wire through the whole house to my room (my mom nixed that for cosmetic reasons).
Last option he offered and I chose...he installs a wireless jack and I run out to Best Buy and get a wireless router and USB adaptor. My sister comes over and despite all efforts, cannot get a connection to the internet.
She suspects that the router needs to be programmed to find "bellsouth.net", so she's bringing her laptop home tomorrow to configure the router.
Even so, I may still have to move the PC out into the living room because the connection was at 64% in my room. No good.
So, back on AOHell, heartbroken. :-(
I hope her idea works. I can't bear to think I'm paying for this service and not able to enjoy it.
ARGH!
Evening Mrsnad - "no one reports them", but he always wondered where all the timber rattler hat bands came from. :-)
DarthVader, yep, that's the guy.
Exactly.
I'm not usually upset over such trivial stuff, but I'm really ticked that I'm on dial-up tonight.
Welcome home, the temp and humidity were a bit much for Gypsygirl so the walk to the park and back sufficed.
She seems to have recovered nicely, in part I'm sure, to the one half of Frostypaws treat LSA gave her.
Ummm....no....
I'm still in MA....leave fer home tomorrow and am scheduled to land in KC around 7:20 pm assuming that all the toilets work.
Sunday (when all the rain came through) we were visiting my cousin near Framingham. 'Course it started raining when the burgers were served and poured buckets that afternoon. We drove through some more buckets back to my aunt's house and then the buckets caught up to us again and knocked the power out.
Kids are being rotten tonight.
I'm going to bed.
Nighty night everyone.
