Very well! We're doing good, spending a lot of time riding while the good weather lasts!
BTW, in other Stormhands news...Jr. started football this mornin'.
And this may be my favorite story from our vacation...
We always stop at this one produce market on the way down, just before we cross over from the mainland to the barrier islands. We like the produce, plus their ice cream stand makes these great peach smoothies. This was a really good year for peaches.
When we stopped on the way down, Jr's friend kept telling him that this one girl behind the bakery counter was checking him out. She apparently watch him all around the store and kept looking at him while we were in the checkout line.
Yesterday we stopped on the way back by to bring some peaches home. He pointed her out to me. So I watched. Her eye followed him all around the store.
When he walked by I watched her. She started at his feet and vey slowly worked her way all the way up.
I don't care who ya are. That's funny right thar...
We're thinking of having Clare do her first semester of college in Japan, doing an intensive Japanese language instruction course. Then she's thinking of doing two years of basic Liberal Arts studies at Ave Maria Univ. in Naples, FL.. After that, she's considering the Univ. of Advancing Technology in Phoenix which DOES offer a BA in Digital Video Editing. By then, Full Sail might have begun offering something similar, so we'll keep looking at it.
I bet he felt like a stud just then!
*waves*
Hey there! Glad you stopped by!
Now where have our other HH fellas gone to??
Ooohh, that should help remind you that your grandparentin' days are just ahead of ya! ;^)
Hi Ruthee, has it been pretty hot in Miami? I think this is the hottest summer since we moved down in '98.
Actually I own a slide rule. Never did figure out how to use it.
Let's hope we have a few years for that. I'd at least like him to be married. (He's pretty adament about being "Straight Edge" so I feel purty good about that...for now)
Still, we saw a family at the beach that was obviously the grandparents with all their grandkids. Wife said "We could do that one day."
I looked at her and said "Are you nuts????"
That's really neat. Is she going to be able to get a job in a year or so to help cover the costs?
I'm getting ready for the Denver con next month - am going to cosplay, ask Rosie, I've been hemming weird pieces of fabric for two weeks now.
Absolutely.
Right now, it's 88 degrees outside, but with the heat index it's at 97. Blech!!
And the sun is scorching!
Oh, cry me a river...;-)
I'm at the library putting my tax dollars to work. Just ran off copies of membership forms we're going to need for tomorrow evening's meeting. Heh! They even took our "already printed" forms with them.
I found the forms we need in pdf format online, so I ran copies of them and also saved them to a disk.
You know, Jen...I'm a follower, not a leader. I have no idea what I'm doing! But every now and then something pops into my mind "I gotta do this!" Or "I gotta do that!" Like last week, it occured to me that the website for Big CHEF still directed email for BA CHEF to the old leaders...so if someone surfed onto the website, they wouldn't be getting info about BA CHEF, but the new group!
So I contacted the webmaster and now whenever someone requests info about the BA CHEF support group, it gets routed to me! I told the interim leader about it and she said "That never occured to me!"
:-)
Kudos on your part. You are proving to the old leaders that you are not someone who will sit back and take it. You are a valuable asset to the new leaders.
I think BA CHEF should not have to accomodate the new group.
But, but, they support the troops! Just ask them, they'll tell you! /sarc
Bet it's not just me knows where that's from (hint: DVD due out 9/13, and the line isn't on it).
Was a long day traveling. Finished up my book on the plane. The gal at the front desk of the hotel started laughing when I went down to the lobby and said, "I'm desperate! I need a Barnes & Noble!" So she got out a map and showed me where it was. Yaaaaay. I have two new paperbacks and I'm a happy camper. I've turned into a bit of a bookworm this year - have been going through about two per trip!
Evenin' folkses... :-) [sip]
Yay, books!
Glad you're safely there. How was the flight?
