New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
That's exactly right.
Welcome Home, Discovery.
My cousin has a house out near Wellfleet. We usually go to the "residents only" beach or the national seashore.
Steve got a call from someone from Spirit Aerosystems...every heard of 'em?
Wichita Kansas.
He's going to call them back and talk to someone else today...
Mornin' folkses!
Thanks for the suggestions for Becky's reading log! I'll make a list of them when I get home and get them at the bookstore. :-D
I'm strongly considering switching her to another school after this year.
When I walked her to class today, the principal was standing there with a bullhorn telling everyone to go to the basketball courts. It was chaotic!
When I got to the courts, other parents informed me that the kids who are dropped off before 8:20 am (class starts at 8:30am) are supposed to go to the basketball courts and wait for their teacher.
The teacher will pick up the kids from the basketball courts at 8:20am and walk them to class.
So, they think I'm going to leave my 8 year old daughter on the courts with every other grade (up to 8th) just because these particular teachers are too damn pampered to be in the classroom by 8 o'clock, they're crazy!!
So, now I am forced to drop her off at 8:20 the earliest, just to have the peace of mind that she will be going straight into her classroom and not standing outside in the sun mingling with 13+ year olds. Which means that I will be late to work everyday since I'm supposed to be at my desk at 8:30am.
Thank goodness my manager doesn't mind since I always put in overtime hours anyway.
FYI - the only adults I saw standing out there on the courts were parents. I did not see a single member of faculty out there supervising these kids. Scary!!
I asked about before-school care, only to be told that it lasts from 7:00am-8:00am, at which time they are brought out to the courts to be with the other kids.
I'm fuming!!

Nah, he couldn't see the future Dumbledore. It's just memories. Sort of like watching a video tape of an old birthday party, only from inside.
Good morning.
Nope. Haven't heard of them but then I haven't been looking lately.
It's not horribly far away from here...I'm thinking maybe if they hire Steve, I could stay here and get the house ready to sell. I mean, it needs painted and the garage door has to be fixed and I guess we'd have to buy a new "over the stove" microwave, since this one is busted.
Ugh...
But those poor teachers need a raise!
Or you could just toss the microwave and let them buy their own...
Then there would be no vent over the stove...I guess I could just buy a vent? Would it detract from the selling?
Oh. Well you could ask the real estate person about that. Personally, the presence (or absence) of a working over-the-stove microwave isn't a make or break item for me.
The house I'm in now doesn't have a range fan.
Grrrrrr....
2J, don't borrow trouble. One day at a time...
Ha!! But this is something to fuss and worry over that's not near so heartbreaking as what I have been fussing and worrying over!
It's almost a relief!
And so it begins... ;o)
As you should be. What happens in the event of a thunderstorm (not unusual in your area)?
But then if things need spiffing up, you might as well get started now. Get the cheap fixes like painting and cleaning done first. Repairs and stuff can be negotiated before closing.
Yep...apparently they saw his online resume or something. I'm not real sure and Steve told me the minimum when he came in last night at nearly 10:30pm while stuffing peaches in his mouth before showering and going to bed.
He said it used to be Boeing...now Boeing was bought out, that I know...it happened here in Tulsa too. I guess this is the new company. Which means if we have to move to Wichita, we may eventually get to move back to Tulsa.
But then I think "Why did I want to stay here so badly?" Because of Celeste, my support group. HA!
Good morning everyone! ~sip~
Good morning!
