The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I may just do that. :-D
Gotta go. Alyson took a late nap and she refuses to go to sleep.
Becky is already in bed and she needs her rest for school. I don't want Aly to wake her up.
See you all tomorow and thanks for the moral support and encouragement. As well as for the reading tips!

Did you try the fix at the uninstall link?
I'm pretty sure now that it does in fact work and doesn't do anything ugly in the process. It does really get rid of the Aurora nastiness.

Not that sort of tablet. :-)
In that case, a capsule might be better.

We've still never gone out the the Cape to spend any time. Always seems too crowded for me.

I lkike the idea of giving them two meetings worth of time to decide. Giving them that info at the first meeting makes it totally clear.

I'm reading Anne of Green Gables to the jedis. I know it's kinda a girls book, but they don't seem to mind. They beg me to keep reading!
It's one of my favorite stories! I keep reading till my voice gives out!

Good books is good books, no girls or boys about it. And Anne of Green Gables is good.

Amen on the need for unstructured time for kids. It appalls me around here because parents sign their kids up for so many after school activities that they are not home until 7pm most evenings.
They say they don't have time to bring their kids to activities in the Parish because of soccer or dance or hockey, or whatever. They deem their spiritual direction less important than getting those activities on the kids' resumes so they can get them into Boston College, or Boston University or Notre Dame, or more importantly to them, Hahvad or Yale! That kind of thinking drives me nuts.

I'm reading Anne of Green Gables to the jedis. Just so long as you promise to read some Louis L'Amour to... :-)

I would in no way mean to deprecate A of GG. But there's no harm in following up with some good guy-stuff like Louis L'Amour, either. :-)
