I recommend having some Chamomille Tea also :~D
I pin most of the blame on the new principal of the school.
When she took over 2 years ago, things just started to go bad. Not education-wise, it's still an A+ school - but everything else.
The patches for the uniforms were not ready in time, so most of the kids don't have a JSR patch on their polo shirts (including Becky).
Also, the whole class-card mess where the cards weren't mailed out in time for the parents to know what classroom their kids should report to is unforgiveably poor school management.
Anyway, my kids are odd enough to stand out already. All because of their weirdo mom. :-D
But do they have the right color notebook? :)
It's too hot for fire demons today.
Been messing around with the guitar all morning. Stopped for awhile 'cause my fingers hurt despite the calluses. I'm such a wimp.
Are there seriesly places where they'd restrict that? Please tell me there aren't!
Another lady I worked with had fits because her kid had to keep work notebooks for every subject and the notebooks had to be a particular color for each subject. Of course no one knew what colors they were supposed to have until the first day of class (at the earliest) so everybody's hitting the store at the same time looking for the right color notebooks.
Her kid figured it was all a bunch of busybody nonsense work and practically refused to keep these books up. His mother did most of his work for him because she didn't want him to flunk.
This lady's parents volunteered to homeschool him, but seeing as how they fell for the Ritalin ploy, my co-worker didn't feel right about it. Something about getting him back into a good public school if the homeschooling didn't work. (Apparently she lucked out somehow getting him into one of the better schools in the district.)
I bet Calcifer works as an air-conditioner if you badger him the right way.
Hey, I didn't do any sewing last night cuz my fingers hurt, no wimp labels from me.
Ok, here's what the rules (that the former leadership had me state) for the egroup state and have always stated...everyone got a copy of this when they signed up...
This is a PRIVATE group...no one can access it but BA CHEF members. Membership is moderator-approved and only BA CHEF members will be approved. This will make sure that your posts are safe and restricted to only BA CHEF members.
So, I think I will give it a month, keep it moderated the entire time, then after plenty of warning, go in a remove anyone that still remains that isn't officially a BA CHEF member.
This is very hard for me! I always just do what the leadership tells me...
Every time you think you've heard the height of beaurocratic foolishness, someone raises the bar!
Sheesh. That's just stupid. But now I know why some of my classmates color-coordinate notebooks and folders to keep assignments in. How silly.
I have three folders I recycle and I buy a new three-subject notebook every semester, it's been all I needed since community college. I can't imagine middle or high schoolers needing more than that either.
Heh. Must be what they teach at edumucation college.
Heh... I remember the ed major at my undergrad school always walking around with pretty posters and felt boards and other stuff... don't remember many of them in Calculus with me, but I bet they could all make collages about it.
Hehehehe...
I worked with both those ladies in the same lab. Throughout the school year all you'd hear was b*tching about the school system.
tap tap tap...Is this thing on?
Took ferever to get thru to the Internet provider this morning. Lots of people setting up fer thuhweek no doubt. But we're here...on dialup. At least we can check email and Jr. can get his algebra finished.
Got here okay yesterday around 4:00. Weather is perfect. House is good, but not quite as good as what was advertised. The pool table is pretty crappy. The view from the top deck is okay. You ~can~ see the ocean. Sorta. But you can't see the Wright Brother's Memorial. It's only a few hundred yards away, and I'm sure you ~could~ have seen it before they built the house next door, which is not new.
Still the house itself is good and it's walkable to the beach. That's a major plus. We're getting ready to go back. Okay, I'm going back I was there at 6:30 this morning. Everyone else is going for the first time, so we're just going for an hour or so.
Hair, we're still figuring out the week, so I'll either freepmail you or call you when we plan to be at the pier.
Welcome to vacation! :~D
Enjoy the beach! Hope we're able to see on the pier later!
Have fun! Don't go in the water, sharks'll get you.
Don't go in the water at dawn or dusk....that's when the sharks are eating.
Otherwise, enjoy your vacation! :)
Why not post those rules in a message to the e-group, in light of the changes in the makeup of the support group? It will give folks a 'heads up' before any changes in the message group are made. It may also be a mental nudge to those who know they should NOT be members of the e-group anymore.
When folks find out that Clare is homeschooling, they always ask me if I have a teaching degree. I remind them that most classes taught in 'Teaching Schools' have to do with classroom managment. Since I'm not managing 15-30 teenagers, and I'm not having to learn about grading on the curve, I tell them I don't NEED a degree in teaching to manage the education of my kids.
