New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Heh... would be admirable if she actually used it...
Pinging everyone to the above links about a soldier-songwriter.... if you click his website and then "music" you can stream his song!
I ordered 10 CDS from the Website. Going to send 9 as gifts to the Program directors of the 9 largest country music stations in my state. Not a coutry music fan but sure can understand "American by God's Amazing Grace"
Here is a link to the songwriter's website

And here is another link for your consideration brought to my attention by a Freeper. Listen to the #2 song "Arlington"

Anyone know how to post pictures here? I have a great picture from Iraq I want to post but cannot figure out how to get it out of my Picture folder on my computer to Free Republic
Get yourself an account at one of the free photo hosting places... www.snapfish.com, www.yorkphoto.com or photobucket all work well.
They'll have a way for you to upload pics to an online album that can be linked.
Here's an explanation of how to post pics that I worked up for another thread.... it sounds complicated but it isn't if you break it down and go step by step.

SSQ sent me the link to the Garret Wade catalog, and one to a Fine Tools website so I could see what to look for. The saws I got have the bamboo wrapped handle and they're double flush cut so they won't mar the floor as he's cutting the door molding
I spent the afternoon in the Kappabashi section of Tokyo. It is the area where all the kitchenware stores are. GREAT fun! I got a ceramic knife for cutting tomatoes, and a bunch of cool other stuff!
Hope the elbow starts feeling better!
I'll check out your recipe when I get back home and can print it out.
*snicker* You see any Mamas in pink curlers?
Saw a couple of them plastic shower caps.
In other news, it's not a good sign when you're first thought after hitting the alarm is "What day is it? Please let it be Friday..."
g'mornin'
Good Evening! Gina's husband just got home from work, so we're gonna have sushi that we made. Richard brought home a JUG of Kirin beer. It is hilarious! I'm taking the jug home with me to show SSQ!
*whimper*
I've been craving sushi really, really bad. I admit, I usually just get the California rolls or something equally unadventurous. But I wants 'em! Last time I had it was in WA right after the wedding.
Oh you sound like you're having a fantastic time!
I won Joshua's most expensive teacher's manual last night! It's the biggy, covers handwriting, reading and English. Costs $52 new, not including shipping.
I got it for $10...including shipping.
:-)
How're you getting this stuff home? It sounds great... you'll remember this time forever... fireworks festival, how neat. Are you mostly staying in Tokyo or are you making side trips to other cities/ the countryside?
Ah Monday... We meet again. You will not get the best of me this time. I even got up early and went running. I WILL get the upper hand. I admit that trick where I got all the way to work before noticing I was wearing two different shoes was pretty clever. Did not see that one coming. But the day is young and I will not be beaten!
I haven't ridden my bike much while sister's been around, so I was very happy to see I matched my best time for getting to work. My ultimate goal (in the realm of bike commuting, naturally, my Ultimate Goal in Life is somewhat more machiavellian) of getting here in 20 minutes looks possible.
As it is, I can get here faster by bike than by bus.
PS - if you can confuse two different pairs of shoes, you've got one too many. I have tennis shoes, a pair of boots, a pair of sandals, and a set of winter dress shoes. I steadfastly refuse attempts to get me to acquire more.
