I like travel. I like feeling that the road may sweep me off somewhere without my say in it...
Came *this* close to just seeing how far north a tank of gas would get me today. Had a minor bout of "what's the point of work and school" on the way back from the airport... just mild homesickness (wrong word, don't care about the place, it's the feeling of belonging I miss). But I didn't. Someday I will just get in the car and drive...
Where do you think you will live after school?
Not that I *need* any shoes.
I like that picture...nicely framed!
I accomplished nothing today. Finished a nice old private eye novel, and generally goofed off. But hey, Sundays are nice that way, once in awhile.
Now we're gonna have spicy chicken and garlic bread and broccoli and cheese and watch a made-for-TV movie that is hopefully so bad it's good. Has John Rhys-Davies in it...I can watch him in just about anything. So...we'll see.
I used to be like that. Larks and road trips - the stories I can tell. I'd horrify my mother by calling her from exotic locations saying, "Hey mom! Guess where I am!" Those were the days. My life is very different now - I only like to go on adventures if Big'ol can come along, too.
You dinner sounds good! What's the movie?
Dragon Storm.
Only thing I know about it (besides that John Rhys-Davies is in it) is that it involves dragons falling from the sky as meteors and hatching out to wreak havoc. Something like that, anyway.
No idea... am having issues with the "after school" concept, personally...
I like Colorado a lot, and I miss western PA sometime, but other than "places in the South where I would die of the heat" I don't consider anything off the table.
G'nite all!
I see.... sounds like quality film ;~D
Well, we got a call from Tiff, who's bringing a horse over here tomorrow for a few days. We have some fence maintenance we'd like to do first so we're off to do that real quick.
You know, spending the afternoon at King's Dominion amongst the unwashed masses is without a doubt the perfect tonic for a poor self image.
I'm just sayin'...
Heh...I get the same feeling at airports.
Evening! Think I'm more or less provisioned for the week...got tomato sauce made for quick pasta dishes and BBQ chicken for when I don't want Italian.
Just put some micronutrients on the "garden" and am watering it now. 'Course by the time the maters come, I'll be at the Cape and those lousy squirrels will have every one of them.
Steenkin' rats!
we've lost at least 40-50 maters tuh squirrels and possums in one week...
one possum down...
next step is takin' the .12 ga tuh all the squirrel nests near the yard... fargin' tree rats...
When I left fer Oregon I had a nice crop of green tomatoes coming along.
When I got back....nothing. At least they don't seem to like the peppers although I did find one stuck in the "fenceline foliage."
they've been hittin' the green and red peppers hard too...
left the jalapenos alone tho......
So far the squirrels haven't bothered the maters even though they've been all around gettin' into the bird feeders. I planted marigolds in all the open spaces on the cinderblock I used. Supposed to keep 'em away.
And if you can stand thuh smell, mothballs work too.
My boss sez he doesn't have a squirrel problem. The owls take care of 'em.
Where can I get some owls (besides on the highway.) :)
