Maybe you should get a coffin and use it for taking naps. They might get the message.

Hair, if I accept that credit card payment, I have to sign up for the premium Paypal account which will charge me. I'll do it if you don't want to just send me a direct deposit from your bank...which is free...
Whatta ya think?

From HairOfTheDog | 03/11/2003 11:44:30 AM CST readoh - sorry! - I will cancel it! - I just thought it seemed faster! - the transfer will take 3-4 days and I thought that was too slow!
Ah... OK.
Looking at that and the answer to "How long have we been friends?" is answered.
A LOOONNNNGGG time! :-)
We knew eachother well at that time and that was over 2 years ago!
Does your school offer low-cost health insurance to students? I did that while I was in college, but I don't know whether all schools have that.
Also, you could look into "catastrophic" health insurance (not sure if that's the technical name of it). It's the kind of insurance that has a very high deductible that doesn't pay for routine expenses like checkups, but will kick in in case of accidents or serious illness. While I was in Southern CA, I looked into it and there was a policy that I could get for about $29/month that had something like a $2,000 deductible. Especially if you are biking a lot, you really should have something. Also, check into whether or not your car insurance would kick in if you were in an accident on your bicycle. That way, at least you'd know whether or not that was covered.
Not that I expect you to get in a biking accident or anything! :o I've not had much trouble myself, but it's always important to have that covered...
I do get it through school and technically it is "low cost" but... it's still more than I can really afford.
Of course a high deductable like that would still wipe me out if something went wrong but it's be manageable...
Heh...maybe someday when I'm more at ease with doing this. I'm so scared I'm going to do something wrong.
It'd wipe you out only short term. Anyone can take a $2000 hit.... what you can't afford is to take a $100,000 hit from a serious accident. < /my dad's lecturing >
ecurbh and I are at a fairly high deductible now, to keep it affordable.... but it's still $100/mo I think for the two of us.
Don't Panic ;-)
Yeah, I don't go to the doc much and I have a supply of my one perscription... that'd save me about $600 this semester, I'd think.
Well, Steve's on his way home to bring me the car...got errands to run. I will log in later, from the library probably.
See ya!
Heh heh!!
I'll try not to.
See ya later!
Anyway, Hair, how do you go about locating such a thing?
This is who we got it from.... We just switched to this (the temp plan) because ecurbh's employer benefit was cut and was too expensive to keep for me.

Hopefully they're a real company ;~D
Some good news, at least; it looks like I've got my residency status approved, all of a sudden they're not saying I owe them $6000 by September (and I was only registered for one class)
Now I just have to find time to talk to my advisor about how many thesis credits to take this semester, locate insurance options, and buy books...
Well, you could start looking for 59-cent things at thrift shops you can sell for $10 on ebay!
That'd work...
Bah, I thought being young was suppose to work somewhere... lowest price I see is $45 a month, which is of course much much better, but...
Can you get insurance for thread killin'?
Wouldn't bother if I could.
Life insurance for threads?
Is it time to go home yet?
