The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Are dark colors seriesly s'posed to be better?
Heh...I don't know if retail jobs even do interviews. I'm totally clueless! Worked for a daycare during the summers as a kid, and then went straight into the Air Force and did computer support.

No, it's just that in all the Starbucks around here at least, the barristas always wear black with their Starbucks aprons...

Those frigging weatherweenies! At 8:30 they say, thunderstorms between Topeka and Lawrence, should hit us in an hour or so. At 10:00, they say, well, it MIGHT rain TOMORROW!! The storms just slid directly to the south and are now moving east. Theg'nads may get some rain, but none for us. I don't count the 0.01 inch we got early this morning. We need rain so badly.

OK...heading out to get coffee and drop off that application. Then I'm coming back to get the REI and B&N applications and I'll go do that.
I'm sure you all care deeply. ;-)
*sigh* I just figure if I keep saying what I'm doing, I'm less likely to back down.

We got a couple of good days of thunderstorms last week.
But Saturday and Sunday I held off waterin' the garden because it was thunderin'. Ended up just waterin' later 'cause it never actually rained.

Hmmm. Not sure about the delays. Possibly they might re-route him, though since they're coming in on the back side of the hurricane, it might not be TOO bad.
Congrats on winning the book! I'm about 1/3rd of the way through mine. It is very interesting so far!

filling out the Starbucks form. It has questions like "What do you like about coffee?" Our kids' pediatrician told me that his daughter applied for a job at a local coffee shop once, and in answer to the question on the application, "What position would you like to have?", answered, "COFFEE WENCH."
She got the job.

Can you call the SA and ask them to save it for you, until you can get over there later today? If you've been in there several times, they might remember you and be more willing to do it.

Sounds like she's cooking impaired. At family covered dishes does everyone avoid her offerings like the plague?
