The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh!!
Watched Grimlins with the jedis last night...great movie...not too much bad language. (Steve says he thinks he heard one GD...so when they used bad language they did it up proper.)
Anyway, it had both jedis rolling.

Dropping a plugged-in toaster into the water should do it, doncha think?
Or maybe something a little stronger...

My second loaf of sourdough turned out fantastic!! I let the starter sour for 3 days...sheesh, maybe four? Anyways, I just stirred it every day using a wooden chopstick.
Has a real intense "sourdough" flavor, is chewy with a nice crust.

Speaking of chewy. When they brought Nana and Luke home, sister-in-law put some slices of what she called "cake" in the fridge.
I checked it out last night. It sort of has the consistency of play-dough.

Cool beans. I made a pudding pie (pudding didn't set) with my fresh picked blueberries on top and homemade graham cracker crust. I made the graham crackers, even. The pie turned into a gloopy mess, but it sure tasted good.

Marzipan possibly? Did it taste like almonds?

I doubt she even knows what marzipan is. This was a mistake. She did something similar once before when she was staying at our house. Used cool whip instead of whipping cream.
This didn't takes like almonds. And a taste was all I could handle.

Heh...filling out the Starbucks form. It has questions like "What do you like about coffee?"
I'm tempted to write "How do I love thee, coffee? Let me count the ways..."
But I won't.
