The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Don't bet on it...she slept through the tornado sirens a block from my house!

Six people are watching my auction!
I'm guessing that's a good thing?

Good morning!
Well...today's the day I *finally* turn in the retail job applications. *sigh* I think at least some of those types of jobs would be a lot of fun, if not a lot of pay, but it's frustrating that I haven't found what I really want.
But who knows? This could be the start of a wonderful adventure! ;-)
Hopefully I'm considered for at least one of these jobs. I've actually never worked in anything like 'em, so I dunno how the process works. Dunno if they just keep a list and pull people whenever they need new workers, or if there's a normal job interview or what.

All these places are within walking distance, so no need for the bus. I'll probably drive to REI, though, just because you have to walk along some bigger roads to get there. Not that there aren't nice sidewalks; there are. I just don't feel like having to stop at lights on foot today! It's funny, but that's been about the hardest thing for me to get used to with walking here. I don't like having to stop every few minutes and wait!
I'm just a weird country gal, I guess.

mmmm....butt calluses...
In other news:
WE WON! WE WON! WE WON!
Okay, so AFAIK we didn't win the $100,000 backyard makeover. But I did win a copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this morning. Answered the trivia question on the local country radio station.
Q: If you have three or more children in your home you are likely to have less of these...
A: Allergies
Any surprise that Corin knew that answer?
Also today: Heat advisory, supposed to get over 100 today, and no it's not a dry heat.
And, Jr. gets home this afternoon. Although I wonder since he's flying from South American thru Texas if they'll have delays this way as well.

Try shocking it again, maybe even a couple of times. It's just algae buildup that you'll get even when your numbers are normal. what he said... only I recommend a chemical shock treatment... not an extensision cord...
