Just asking... anyone see it? I'd like to know how any FReepers liked it. I read a ton of their comic books, esp. the John Byrne ones, many moons ago.
So... flame on!

Saw it last night with my wife. I never read the comics, but it liked the movie. I have a simple scale for rating movies.
Entertaining or Not entertaining.
This was good enough to entertain me!
I saw it last night aswell...as a fan of the comic I was pleased....they changed a few things...but overall it was pretty true to the core story.
The Thing and the Human Torch stole the show.
Well more than enough reason for me to see it on the big screen! LOL
I've been a fan of the "Fantastic Four" since it became the cornerstone for Marvel Comics. So, I know that if Michael Chiklis and "The Thing" don't work on film, it's a wasted exercise.
I'll see it, either this weekend or next. Even if "Rottentomatoes" has given it a 28%.
Jack.
..I used to have some real old issues where the Watcher intervened and helped them in their fight against Galactus ...
I bet that this Watcher was appointed by a liberal! ;)

MUST CRUSH ENEMY !!!! LoL! he apparently has great lines. I haven't seen it yet either, just previews.
He also plays the crooked bald cop on "the shield".
Like most, I'll wait for the DVD, it shouldn't be a long wait.
(Although not that young, b/c I think it was in the extension room)
bump
Sorry Joe, but the Fantastic Four was terrible.
He also plays the crooked bald cop on "the shield".
He also played Curly in the TV biopic of the 3 stooges.
I haven't seen it. Heard it was awful, though. Ebert gave it 1 star, and he's my most trusted critic.
Now that the bring-the-masses-up-to-speed part is over, I cant wait to see the sequels (contracted for two of them). If they are anywhere near as good as X2 or Spider-Man 2, they will be, well, fantastic...JFK
Yeah, but Ebert is a snob. If you had seen his (since redacted) review of X2, you might change your default critic. He started straying into a 'what would it be like to have sex with a mutant?' thing and it was just kind of odd (not to mention creepy) to read. I dont take his word for much. Dramas, true stories, things like that I value his opinion, but for fun movies, he just takes himself too seriously to be a valuable resource for the non-upper crust crowd. Just my opinion tho...JFK
Yeah, I disagree completely. I love Ebert, and, sadly, I pretty much agree about X-men. He didn't dislike the x-movies, he just thought they got bogged down with too many mutants. I think he's right. Oh, and what he asked was how a mutant would be "intimate" with Rogue, since touching her nearly kills you. I've wondered that myself.
He likes fun movies, in my estimation. You just have to understand what he's saying. When he questions the logic of an action/adventure pic, he's observing rather than criticizing. The lack of logic in such movies shows a cheerfulness on the part of the director.
Although, I'm a bit of a movie snob myself, so maybe I have no room to talk :)
