PING... Good Morning...
[Freepmail me to get on or off the Kitty Ping List.]
We have a "Compound Kitty" here. The security guys took her to a local vet and got her her shots. (Yes, they have vets here and I was kind of surprised, too...LOL)
Then, a couple of weeks ago, they took her to get spayed and found out...ooooops...she's preggers. So we're going to have Compound Kittens running around here soon.
The vet said to bring Compound Kitty back when her kittens are about seven or eight weeks old and they can spay her then.
Anybody want an Iraqi kitten?
Who's The Daddy ? ROFLOL.
I am down to one kitty. It is tempting but too much on Houston to get him a new playmate at his age. He has been acting like a little baby lately.

Hi Allegra,
Forgive my ignorance but you are in Iraq? Where in Iraq? Good luck with the kitty mom. I am a veterinary technician in the great state of Tennessee. I highly recommend you having her spayed as soon as she has recovered from having kittens. She'll come back into heat before she is even finished nursing/weaning the babies and then you'll have more kittens.... (I see an analogy to terrorist here somewhere.....)
Thank you for serving our country. I have a nephew in Arizona that is going to be deployed in September to Qatar. He'll be guarding prisoners or something like that.
Good luck with the kitties.

Yes, I'm in Baghdad. Right in the middle of it.
Thank you for your kind comments. I'm a civilian contractor. I work in support of our troops - they do the hard stuff.
I'm not sure how modern the vetinary medicine is here but I'm sure it's nothing like what we have back home. Our security guys are just supposed to take our kitty to them when the kittens are about seven weeks old.
We're actually looking forward to having kittens to play with. Of course, the mother cat is also very playful. We have a little putting green on our compound and she leaps in the air chasing after the balls when people are putting.
God Bless You!
When my Dad served in the Navy in WWII they had a ship's cat who had kittens while they were at sea. To hear my Dad talk, the cat and her kittens were a very bright spot in a difficult time and place. Sounds like it for you too. My best wishes to all of you!
Meanwhile, back here stateside, this little baby came into my life a few weeks ago when it was being taken to the vet's office at three-and-a-half weeks while we were there getting flea drops for ours and the two that belong to the brother in Iraq. The baby stayed at my house for a week while daughter-in-college was visitng and now he lives about 1400 miles away. It's been two weeks. I want to take a trip so-o-o badly. I just know I'm going to be a wreck if I ever have grandbabies that don't live near me.
We're sure he's not deaf despite being a white-cat-with-blue-eyes, thank goodness. College daughter is going to have his eyes checked at his first vet visit in a couple weeks because of the reflectivity you see in the pics. Also one of his irises seems to be a greyer blue and the other a brighter blue. Wonder if they're truly different also or if it's the retinas behind them making them appear different. We'll see.
What would Finbar think?
I'll take two Iraqi kittens to go.
What an adorable kitten! And blessed, too to have found people to love.
As for Finbar (I just love that graphic!), I think he's going to need a kitten to corrupt when I come home. His "foster parents" have cats and Finbar is enjoying having all of his co-cats to play with. Dulcie is too spohisticated to play with Finbar, but he has all these new friends now.
So I'd already decided to get him a kitten when we're all settled back at home. I love it....I'm going to get a cat for my cat. LOL
Finbar will love a kitten to play with. A few years ago I had to get a kitten for a cat. The cat lost her dad and couldn't get over it; it broke her heart. The ASPCA had a kitten the same black color as her dad, and she loved it. They loved each other because the kitten missed its mom, too, and the two new buddies sleeping together made a beautiful picture.
Want me to put out a kitty ping?
wow. all I can say is wow.
Very nice!
