If you have On Demand from Comcast cable, you can catch 'The Crossing' with Jeff Daniels as George Washington on A&E.
I think it really captures what it must have been like for Washington during those times. By happenstance, later in the afternoon, the author of '1776' was interviewed by Brit Hume. He spoke in detail about the privation faced by GW and the army, the might of the English army, and the realization that it is just amazing that we were able to win over such odds.
What remarkable people.
(sorry, Snugs)
THE PRESIDENT GAVE A PASSIONATE, INSPIRATIONAL SPEECH THIS MORNING IN WEST VIRGINIA! . . . You can read the FR reaction as posted on the 'live' thread at

We are so fortunate to have President George W Bush as our Commander in Chief during this time of testing for our country!
I saw it earlier today on A&E, it was awesome! I second your recommendation to everyone.
Dont worry it was a long time ago.

Yes, that was a great interview. I love history and
glad to hear this on TV for a change.
A few of my 5th great grandfathers actually saw
George Washington, one came down from New England
when Washington laied the cornerstone of the capitol.
It was a Masonic ceremony and the apron my 5th great
grandfather wore that day with GW is still in
the family.
We spent Labor Day weekend 2 years ago at Valley Forge, PA. Incredible stories of the army and General Washington! I'm wearing my "Patriot" t-shirt from Valley Forge right now.
happy 4th of july everybody !!!
