Thanks.
Looks like I missed the Lamarama funhouse.
Hey, Taz.
it was a piquant little thread, with an earthy top-not and a wooly after-taste.
How are you?
Machts nicht!
:-D
You should keep that graphic handy for Trolls!
Good night, Ms. Feather!
Glad you enjoyed it, but now I seem to be up again!
Neither, actually.
A pun is a play on words, sometimes on different senses of the same word and sometimes on the similar sense or sound of different words. Alliteration is the repetition of the same sounds or of the same kinds of sounds at the beginning of words or in stressed syllables.
Llamarama is merely attaching the campy, overused 50s/60s suffix -rama to the subject term. As a result, while it's a pretty funny concept (like Hullabaloo--who would go to a 'hullabaloo' these days!?!?), but it's not really a pun in the sense we commonly recognize because it's not substitution of 'llama' for another, similar word.
Example of a pun using the word: If one of these animals were bought by a country-singing, large-breasted theme park owner, would it become the Dolly Llama?
I didn't say it was a great pun...I beg your Parton.
Example of alliteration using the word:
Llamas loitering lengthwise allay lads' lassitude.
My lord, Xena, you like Ogden Nash, too?
There is no god, or we'd have met when I was in Houston. 8^)
Or more likely, there is a God, and he really doesn't like me...or he doesn't like you.
It's probably you, though. Because I KNOW he likes me. He told me in that dream, you know, the one where you're standing in a field where a thousand Goodyear blimps fly over weaving among each other to impress you and they all have sidelights that blink out your name and streamers that read your name, while thousands of subjects kneel at your feet ululating your life story over and over while ending each breath with "praise his holiness!" at the same time they're all eagerly proffering large bowls of nearly frozen banana pudding with Nilla-type wafers and chunks of frozen banana stuck in and you walk among them and they kiss your feet as they hand you the banana pudding and apologize profusely that it didn't come with a free Jolt Cola, but that you'll have to wait for heaven for perfection.
Or is it just me that has these dreams?
Bar-B-Que....MMMMMMMmmmmmmm
Llama Llinguini
Hi tia,
I'm sorry that I missed the action while it was hopping.
I enjoyed reading it afterwards.
Don't be sorry!
Llamas are NEVER sorry.
(Trust me...I know)
Hope you have a fun and wonderful Fourth of July!
;-)
I like your post.
Very instructive!
I knew a family that DId have a llama named "Dolly".
Here tiamat, let's revive this thread. Tasmanianred missed the fun!
Hello, bentfeather!
Hi 'Red!
Who would have thought spitting Llamas could be so much fun!! LOL I like their eyes.
They do tend to have pretty eyes. LOVELY eye-lashes.
And they often have a quietly amused expression on their faces.
That's a cute pic.
