Tell franksolich to put you on the list. Now when you come to FR, up in the right hand corner will have the "new posts to you" in red. You click on that and it will direct to any new happenings/dummie alerts and new hostage threads regarding the ASS. It's a very convenient tool.
Just type out a "reply" to franksolich, here on this thread, and tell him to add you to his "ping" list.
Ah jeez, never mind my post. Franksolich is on top of it, as usual.
Okay, you're on the DUmmie Alert! ping list, sir.
You might post on a DUmmie FUnnies thread to P-J Comix if you want on that ping list, too--the very longest ping list on Free Republic--if you're into his humor, and that way you won't miss an edition.
Or if you're into some other sort of topic or interest, usually there's a ping list floating around--but there exists no complete listing of ping lists (there are thousands), and so one has to keep his eyes open for them.
But you said it better than I do, madam.
By the way, one wonders if the Head Warden "Skinner," ... ......... .... ...... ....., and the Turnkey "EarlG" took off for the holiday weekend; DUmmieland seems somewhat, uh, unmoderated, at the moment.

I haven't been paying too much attention to the pictures that accompany the DUmmie Alerts, but if it is not too much trouble, would you add the bird pic into the mix, if he is not already there?
If you have your reasons not to add him, that is understood.
I did enjoy seeing that picture in earlier alerts.
The picture of the big bird looking down disapprovingly is reserved for "extra special emergency urgent superduper" DUmmie Alert!s now.
If the bird pops up, that means--well, that means not real good news for the Andyites.
The can of worms is the standard DUmmie Alert!.
This being a holiday weekend, and not many around in front of their computers, and a Friday evening to boot, I thought I would try--one time--something different.
The photograph of where I live has been posted for the convenience of anyone traveling this way, so they don't end up in Louisiana or Pennsylvania by mistake.
Someone should post a sign:
Please do not spook the cattle!
Thank you Frank
BTW, not a sir. This name always seems to make people think I am :) I appreciate the direction from all of you.
LOL Frank
Yes, I see where Ben and his crew have quite a field for their "baseball game". Idiots.
Yeah, that was a hot issue here in Nebraska, during the elections of 2000, this gay marriage issue.
People here really don't care about sexual proclivities, and as long as it doesn't involve children, dead people, or animals, generally, well, there's more important things to worry about.
We're very tolerant, very diverse, very laid back, very mellow, here in Nebraska.
Back in 2000, there was a gay marriage initiative placed on the ballot, and at first nobody cared, and it probably would've passed.
But then the professional gays from New York and San Francisco decided to make it an "issue" here, and invaded the prairies in droves, yelling and screaming and throwing money all over the place.
Well, naturally that incited a reaction.
People in Nebraska don't care for people from New York or San Francisco telling us what we should do, what we should think, how we should feel--and so there was a big reaction to this outside interference.
What tilted the issue the other way was all of these professional gays from New York and San Francisco traipsing and cavorting around, earrings and bracelets jangling, sequins sparkling, faces painted.
Gays in Nebraska are just like ordinary people, none of this stupid decorated stuff.
Well, anyway, with all these professional gays from New York and San Francisco tiptoeing-and-tuliping around, dancing and frolicking, cavorting and romping with all of these metallic things glittering in the sun--well, they spooked the cattle.
Spooked cattle are a terrible sight to see, and people get injured, and even killed, trying to calm them down.
The professional gays from New York and San Francisco never learned the first rule of politics in Nebraska--a rule diligently followed by Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals.
Don't do anything to spook the cattle.
cruzin: welcome aboard
now, i'm going to head on over to google to see what turns up.
note to self: dude, you really need to review the filibuster stuff this weekend and get that project out the door
You know, just an idle thought for a Friday evening.
I get a lot of requests for the three so-called "bean spill" threads in DUmmieland started by the red round one in late December 2004, right after he had been fired by Bev Harris for not doing any work.
So I read these things over and over again--it seems I can recite them almost as well as the Gettysburg Address--but their significance, if any, continues to escape me.
These three DUmmieland threads are apparently a hot topic of discussion among many people, but when I approach, I feel as if I have walked in on a seminar about the mating habits of bluejays or a panel discussion about sanitary improvement districts; the subject just seems too arcane.
But there seems a hot demand, from all directions, for links to those three "bean spill" threads.
I look at them, and they appear fairly innocent; just the usual subtle request from the red round one for money, the red round one admitting he stole from Bev Harris, and the book publisher cheering him on.
There must be something else here, but I am not seeing it.
I'm aware of one of those threads, perhaps I bookmarked that one (if not, i'm sure someone here has it), but I can't remember running into the other 2 that exist.
Concerning bluejays, my last place had jays all over. It was neat to look out the window or sit on the patio and see them chillin' on the fence. they had a nest near my place and they were nasty (divebomb technique) concerning security. Lovely birds, mean as heck. They're over at my sister's place, along with a large woodpecker, deer, and a pair of bluebirds.
if you've got those 'bean spill' links handy, feel free to ship 'em in my direction. i'd like to look at them.
after actually thinking about lurch (first time i did that during this saga), i realized there are some massive egos involved, never thought about mindsets prior to the lurch incident.
currently trying to figure out how to convert a .tiff file to a file format that is acceptable by photobucket, so i can post an image, pretty accurate, of myself over on my profile page...may have to ping a mac person soon.
Well, you know, maybe I'm too jaded or something, or perhaps read these too many times.
I find nothing out of the ordinary in them, but apparently quite a few other people do.

Have a good holiday.
I have a quick question for anyone here right now and I don't think I've asked it before.
In the third bean spill thread franksolich posted, why do the screen names switch?
Meaning, if you look at the top of the thread, where all the screen names and comment titles are listed, the god_bush_n_cheney name appears on the right side of the screen, but if you go down to the actual full comment, the Andy_Stephenson screen name shows up on the left side of the screen.
Why does this happen? This is not the first thread this has happened in.
maybe I'm losing my mind...
