Many Freepers grew up in what they considered to be the golden age of Rock concerts. Of course, it may have had more to do with the fact that we were young and fanatical about the music in our youth. These days, ol Pissant prefers the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Military Band music and Jazz, but I have some very fond memories of the craziness of my Rock concert yesteryears. Im quite sure many of you have some concert stories that rival and surpass mine. So this thread is the place to share!
Following are 2 concert experiences that left a permanent scar on me! ;o)

In the 60's Bakersfield had lots of famous rock bands stop by on their way in or out of LA. I went to many of them; but I couldn't tell you which. I was just an air-headed kid who went with those who had good taste.
It was fun. I sure wish I could remember which was whom.
Oddly, in about 1971? Eric Burdon and War played at a college dance at a local community college. I remember dancing right next to Eric Burdon--who was wasted and had a leather purse. I had loved his music and was dis-enamored by seeing his slide down.

LOL!!!!
That was very funny.
Almost as funny as the song I just downloaded of Homer Simpson singing Kid Rock's Bawitdaba.

Oh if only I could have seen Genesis ten years earlier than that picture. The Lamb Tour with Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett.

Linda Ronstadt can flat-out sing...I don't even care about her looney politics, or her weight. I could listen to her all day!

"Blue Oyster Cult...man, they had some GREAT Cow-Bell!"
A lot of folks make jokes about that band cause of that SNL skit and their radio hits.. What BOC fans refer to as the Big 3.. Godzilla/Reaper/Burnin' for You but in the 70's they were actually one of the most talented hard rock outfits out there IMO. It's just that most people never hear their good stuff cause it's never played on the radio.

Did you do the ass kickinI think the statute of limitations has since expired. I may have played a small part in that matter and Dee did ask politely (or was it profanely?) to take care of the problem

It's just that most people never hear their good stuff cause it's never played on the radio. You could say that about a lot of bands. I usually never cared usually for a band's "hits." A case in point was pre-Michael McDonald Doobie Brothers. I pretty much skipped over their hits, the better songs were the deep cuts on their albums.
