Quite a story about Walmart heir, John Walton, dying in a plane crash.

Sad.

If the Kroger would close I would either have to drive 7 miles

If they closed the local convienence store I would have to drive 20 miles for a jug of milk. I always drive 20 miles for my groceries.

My favorite grocery store is about 5 blocks down the street, i.e. it's about a 2 minute drive or a 15 minute walk if it's cool enough. It's locally owned, and I've been going there for 10 years. Absolutely the best, freshest meat in town. I don't trust meat from the big stores, because most of it is processed in one location and packed in trucks to send to the stores.

His dad said leave him on it and see if the reactions disappear.

He now has what looks like blisters on the top of each toe on his right foot. Ringed blisters. Very strange. No pain.

He has about a week left. If he still has insomnia and vivid dreams I won't get it refilled.

Wish we had a local grocery store. When I was growing up we shopped at a small mom and pop store. The meat was the best!

Well, you see, this is why I am a suburban person, rather than a country gal. Driving 20 miles for groceries would drive me nuts, particularly since my husband always wants something that we don't have. I bet I go to the store three times a week.

If I had to drive 20 miles I would have to re-order my entire mind set.

Actually, it isn't the mileage, but the fact that the highway they are located on (the grocery that moved) is one of the busiest in the Indianapolis area, and there are constant accidents, including many fatalities, along the stretch of road I would have to travel. It is constant traffic, even early in the morning.

When I was a wee little tot we shopped at a local store. During the war you could not find bubble gum and when it was available it went like hot cakes, my uncle was a butcher at that store and when the gum did come in he saw to it I had at least 10 pieces. I got into a lot of fights because of this, the 'boys' would get mad because I got some, they didn't. Oh, it sold for a penny a piece.

Up here in the country we have a little quick stop just a few miles down the road. All that guy needs is a gun, a horse and a mask, sheesh BUT when you need something and he has it you really don't care. It comes down to a few minutes to his store of 30 minutes to a real store.

When I was growing up my favorite aunt would give me a nickel to buy candy with at their small town grocery store. I'd pick and chose for 5 minutes from a glass case. I had a FILLED small brown sack with gum, tootsie rolls and jawbreakers.
