We will not falter, we will not tire, we will not fail.
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Post your short news items, issues of interest, links, and so on. All who advance the Cause are welcome.
I founf this at Hugh Hewitts site....look at what Dana Milbank wrote.
Betsy's Page directs me to Dana Milbank's strange opening line today: "Spectators packed the Pentagon briefing room yesterday to see Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld fight the insurgents -- mano a mano." The insurgents Milbank refers to are reporters and pollsters. Betsy: "Dana Milbank equates the media and pollsters with the insurgents in Iraq. Revealing, n'est-ce pas?"
The is to be loathed...and scorned and shunned.
As I check the radar, I can't see how we can NOT have rain tonight, but I've been wrong before...lots of times.
Oh, Trust me, it can split and go North of you and South of you, and you can send up sitting there high and dry. It's happened to me several times already this year.
We got some good rain here, lysie. Hope you do too.
Finally did something I've been meaning to do since our young friend returned from Iraq..and that was to sign up with Soldiers Angels for another correspondent/soldier.
Many, many thanks to the folks who work at this site, as well as the folks here at FR who organize packages for our service men & women.
The soldier I was assigned to is a Marine working with 65 Navy Corpsmen.
Please keep this young man & his unit in your prayers.
Milbank makes me physically ill...
I just returned home. How did the President do tonight?
Will give you a link to the live thread....
After the speech, the callers into Hugh Hewitt's show were very positive, as was he...
I have to cheer the Tribe on to victory now. :-)) Night LB.
I missed the speech. I haven't been home very long.
The TV here in my home office apparently has a bad satelite connection and so I get only an error message. I have been up to my eyebrows in work stuff and haven't taken time to call the TV dude to come fix it.
I would rather take a beating than watch TV with my husband, he changes channels ever 30 seconds. So I know nothin' about the speech.
And there's no way in h3ll I'm going to wade thru a 1000+ thread at this hour.
I read through some of the posts on the Live Thread that mentioned some of the post-speech reaction. The libs have/will tear the speech down because there was nothing new in it ... just a re-iteration of what the President has said from the beginning. Also, he mentioned September 11, 2001 at least 5 or 6 times ... I'm sure to try to jolt some people who have become complacent into remembering why we are at war. Apparently, the libs are upset and very critical that he did that (they don't want people to remember) and are saying that since we didn't find WMDs that he's come up with a new excuse to rationalize the war. How lame is that?!!!
Here is a link to the text of the speech:
President Addresses Nation, Discusses Iraq, War on Terror
What the text does not show is the depth of emotion that was so evident in this good man who we are truly blessed to have as our leader at this time in history.
Here is a link to a website that he mentioned in his speech -
I am sure it will be repeated. It was very good. He gave lots of details, avoided cliches, and got very emotional when talking about the troops. The Rats hate the speech, so you know it was a good one!
We got thunderstorms starting around 3PM. Torrential rains, with flash flood warnings! I am SO thankful for the rain!
I just watched POTUS again. Magnificent.
Thanks for posting the text.
Thanks for the brief comments on the President's speech. I read the text and it was wonderful. The Dem's seem to think that he is supposed to pull out some new magic reason for being in Iraq. Well, that's not gonna happen.
I have done something to my heel. I can barely walk. We had a fire drill at work today and I had to walk down a flight of stairs. Talk about agony. I have an appt with the dr on Friday, in the meantime, he called me in some heavy duty pain pills to take when I get home from work. I take one and I am gone. At least it doesn't hurt so much. I will quit whining now.
One more time, WELCOME TO OUR STATE!!!!
He was good, real good, the truth is he is sincere, course the dims don't know what this is being they play act every minute of their lives.
Our hubbys must have come from the same planet, IG. Busting a gut here about the fact that you'd rather take a beating than watch tv with yours. Mine does the same; except, maybe he changes channels every 20 seconds. The only time I sit with him in front of the tv is when I have a good book to read.
Thanks for the comments about the speech, MM and MP. No way could I read through 1000+ posts on that thread either.
I have the two year old and the one year old this afternoon until 7pm.
Hope your heel is better, UG.
Good morning, ALL.
Good morning, gc. I can't seem to get in the groove of sleeping UNTIL dawn. Maybe if I ate a bowl of grits at night I could. You think?
Good morning, Toby!
Today's the day, huh? Good luck with the closing!
Good morning. When I posted to gc, I didn't realize that you were up too.
