"Morality" wasn't really what I had in mind in what I said. The fact that Harry Potter will NEVER point to Jesus Christ as the ONLY way of salvation, is where it breaks down (unless there's some Savior-type figure in the stories that I'm unaware of, and then I would of course reconsider). Rejecting Jesus as the only way to heaven is the INFINTELY HIGHER morality lesson that Harry Potter can never teach. Mere "right and wrong" can help the already-saved, but not the unsaved.

And yes of course I understand that that wasn't their intention anyway.

I figured setting the tone early would knock the legs out from under the real wackos...

I ran into one of those wackos at the doctor's office a few weeks ago. I was reading a magazine that had something about Harry Potter on the cover. A lady sitting across from me started talking to me about how evil Harry Potter was, and how it corrupts youth, etc. etc. etc. and how she's kept her sons from reading it and being influenced by it (she had two young boys sitting next to her, about 10 and 12 years old).

Her name is called, she gets up and goes in.

As soon as she leaves the waiting room, her two sons start talking about playing Grand Theft Auto at their friend's house.

If I hadn't been feeling so poorly, I think I would have fallen out of my chair laughing.
