He keeps his planes at Shelby County Airport near Pell City, AL. That is between Birmingham and Anniston on I-20. He has a huge estate on Lake Logan Martin which is near the airport as well. He doesn't own an amphib though he did like to go flying with me in mine. He flew P-51's against the Luftwaffe and the Nazi ground forces but was scared to attempt water landings in my plane. Yet was comfortable right seating with me making water landings. He said it was a thrill to ride but he felt there were too many ways to mess up. This guy has more hours than a bird, I have only around 500 hrs.
