Beyond all of the issues above, I'd really like to know what the nurse/school would have further done in the case of a positive result (no, I'm not accusing the girl - hardly - but since they've apparently got a policy that allows this intrusion without parental involvement, how much further does this go?).

If the story presented is accurate, then the school district needs to fire the stupid nurse and then get ready to pay big time.

Something is missing here.....

Why did the "boy" initiate this fiasco? What might he expect to gain? What does anyone think he could expect to gain?

So...with abuse by school officials happening all over the country I want to hear who is going to defend the cesspool of the public school system (Oh..I know - there are many that will say "Yes, the are problems...but MY school is different")

"I remember the incident," Eastwood said. "Is that how it went down? No, of course not."

What normal school nurse talks like that? Is SHE a gangbanger?

"Is that how it went down?" Indeed.

The school must get extra funding for each referral they can send to Planned Parenthood. </sarc>

I remember going to the school nurse to get my hearing checked. Once, in 3rd grade another kid bit me, so the nurse called my parents to let them know.

Not sure about schools anymore. There sure seems to be a lot more time spent with kids pants off in school nowadays.

There has to be more to this story.

For instance why in the world would the nurse give a tinkers damn if this girl was pregnant? After denying the allegation why wouldn't the nurse believe her?

Logic would suggest the girl asked for the test in order to prove the boy was nothing more than a blow hard and prove her innocence in the matter. If she asked for the test, her father might suspect it is an admission she is fooling around. Perhaps she has changed her story because Daddy might suspect she is sexually active, in which case she would rather not admit it to him.

After raising a daughter, if she requested the test, as a father I know that thought would certainly cross my mind. My daughter became sexually active in her last year of HS but never admitted to me until years later.

As they say "Somethin is rotten in Denmark" here.

About forty years ago a school nurse sent us a note that she had tested our daughter's eyes and found major problems. The nurse wouldn't tell us what she envisioned as the problem. We took our daughter to an opthamologist who found nothing wrong. He wrote a very strong letter to the school in which he told them to leave diagnosis to those who knew what they were doing.

Just another day in public school. The tuition at Christian school is why why we are always financially on the edge, but stories like this remind me how every penny of it is well spent.

As my friends from all over the country say (over and over again) "Yeah that stuff is awful, but it doesn't happen in OUR school district.""

A few years ago, my fiancee's daughter was crying at school over something to do with her father. She was sent to the school nurse who after talking with her and finding a bruise on her shin, had Alleghenny County (PA) CYS investigate her (and I) for child abuse. A case worker came to her house and questioned her children individually about abuse, punishments, home life etc. I found the whole thing to be a little traumatic and nerve wracking.

Of course they found no abuse and her record has been expunged, but talk about an overreaction. Another case of the government, through the schools in these cases, trying to raise America's children independent of their parents.

It is time to close state sponsored, leftist NEA run schools. Get the leftists out of brainwashing our children/grandchildren. Immediately eliminate all taxes that support schools. If school districts are mortgaged with bond issues, make the NEA responsible for meeting that debt.

Even the 'good' schools have more 'bad' than 'good'.

<<"When the girl's father asked Principal Chad Kelly about the pregnancy test, the father was handed a piece of paper citing a section of the Texas Family Code stating that a child may consent to medical treatment by a licensed physician if the child "is unmarried and pregnant and consents to hospital, medical or surgical treatment, other than abortion, related to the pregnancy." >>

Well, that's a real interesting read there Mr. Principal, but it has no bearing on why your nurse forced a girl to take a pregnancy test!!
