All right...I live a very sheltered life in the sticks (Yes California still has sticks) and I usually catch up with pop culture just about the time it makes a nostalgia comeback. So, I gotta ask:

What is with the COWBELL?

This riddle concerns three elderly ladies, a large bottle of Jack Daniel's (Black Label), and a baseball game. You get to be a detective.

Here goes....

The three ladies went to their first baseball game. This was something that was an occasion of great excitement to them.

To add to the excitement, they smuggled a bottle of booze into the game, and started immediately to enhance the soft drinks they bought.

It was a good game. There was a lot of action on the field and a lot of action in the stands.

All too soon, long before the game was over, the bottle was nearly empty.

By now, you should have enough information to be able to tell how far along the game is, and what the status of the game is, namely, the inning and how many runners are on base.

Have you figured it out yet?

It's the bottom of the fifth, and the bags are loaded.

Does she allow you to take when you go out with the guys?

Ahhhh! Shades of Sam Kenneson.

Hang on a second, let me ask her. <puts hand over phone>

Honey, can I take my d*** with me? Why not? The rest of the guys are taking theirs?

<into phone>She says no f****** way.

Shalom.

"Dont feel bad, my wife wont let me convert one of the end tables in the living room into a beer frig."

Now that is a great idea, I love it. Your wife has no sense of adventure.

No one in their right mind would ever question your masculinity.

It's too bad no one in their right mind spends Friday on the OFST.

I put my right mind in a drawer, here, during OFST postings so I won't be tempted to be serious.

Remember what I said about controlling your mind? That's how I control mine.

Trouble is, sometimes I forget to put it back in when I get back to work.

What's worse, most of the time nobody can tell.

Shalom.

"Will I be the first to do this to you?" whispered the man after his bride-to-be finally consented to sex. "What a silly question," giggled the girl, "I don't even know what position you want to use yet."

It originated in a Saturday Night Live skit, where Christopher Walken played a record producer, who repeatedly asked the cowbell-striking bandmember (the band was supposed to be Blue Oyster Cult) for more cowbell. In fact, he had a fever, for cowbell!

For some reason this skit has caught on and is regularly referenced here on FR. It's like hugh and series, and my beeber is stuned. And no, I don't know the origins of those other Freeperisms!
