It originated in a Saturday Night Live skit, where Christopher Walken played a record producer, who repeatedly asked the cowbell-striking bandmember (the band was supposed to be Blue Oyster Cult) for more cowbell. In fact, he had a fever, for cowbell!

For some reason this skit has caught on and is regularly referenced here on FR. It's like hugh and series, and my beeber is stuned. And no, I don't know the origins of those other Freeperisms!

I don't know that either, but would like to. I learn a little something new every day.

Like, what's with the kitties when a troll is discovered?

Thanks for the Cowbell enlightenment (there's no one more out of touch than a redneck engineer). Too bad the MP3's were all pulled...they were probably a hoot.
