Even though some will take bets on how many weeks this marriage will last -- I still wish 'em both well.

Maybe she'll want a long engagement.

Didn't think of that -- as the article states, her previous engagement lasted a long time, then she and the other guy broke up.
Better to find out you're not right together BEFORE the wedding than AFTER.

At the Eiffel Tower?
Why do I think Cruise is overcompensating?

Nothing newsworthy in that...he'll get to propose to several more women if he lives long enough. This is a little man with a big wallet and some women like that for a maximum run of three to five years. The younger they are, the shorter the run.

Tom Cruise is engaged to his girlfriend Katie Holmes, after proposing to her in the early hours of this morning at the Eiffel Tower. Are they sure he didn't propose to the the Eiffel Tower, considering the rumors about his preferences and all?

With Cruise, proposing next to a parking meter would be overcompensating.

At the Eiffel Tower? Why do I think Cruise is overcompensating? If the rumors are true... Tom has a big affection for things of a phallic nature, if you get my meaning.

I think Cruise made Page 6 today, the guessing part.

Today's announcement may end speculation that the Cruise-Holmes relationship has been a publicity stunt. No it won't. Most Hollyweird marriages are publicity stunts.

Oh well. I think Rachel Leigh Cook is still single, so my dream of a hot, single brunette lives on . . .

Not overcompensating - the tower just reminds him of something he would like.
To: phoenix_004
I knew it. Too much to hope that he was proposing to jump.
