I wish I had a "best date" story. It's been so long since I've even been on a date...

There aren't many places to go on dates in my current neck of the woods...LOL

OKay:
The Best one I had was with a guy named JIMMY CASINO...LOL
but that was his name, he always picked me up in a limo when we went out to eat and we went to every 5 Star Resturaunt in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, I remember him telling me what he so enjoyed about taking me out to eat was that I ate everything on my plate and even dessert!

He said most women he took out would take a few bites of salad and a few bites off the main course and say they were done! I said Heck no not me this is darn good I'm gonna eat!

Sorry to say he passed away...

I've been on a ton of good dates but I gotta say that the best one was my first date with the lovely and brilliant Mrs. B. S. Roberts.

I was first attracted to her when she passed by me and was walking away from me. Know what I mean?
I asked her cousin if she was seeing anyone. Her cousin said no, so I asked her out.
We went to a pub for a few drinks before dinner. We chatted about many things. Turns out she was a Sci-Fi literature fan like me.
I then looked her in the eye and told her I had a question for her. I informed her that her answer would determine how things would proceed between us. She looked nervous so I just spilled it.
I asked her, "Are you a Republican or a Democrat?"
She flashed me a big grin and said, "I'm a registered Republican. You can call my dad right now if you don't believe me."

The rest is, as they say, hist-o-ree.

Oh this is going to be fun.....

My husband-to-be (I had no idea at the time) and I had had the kind of argument that ends relationships. I never wanted to speak to him again. After several days of silence...I was afraid it was really over.

We were both working in Bryce Canyon National Park. It was beautiful, romantic, and remote. It was about lunchtime at the visitor center (where I worked) when I saw him coming up the walk toward me. When he got to the front desk, he asked me if I wanted to go to lunch. I said yes.

He guided me with a light touch on the back to his pick-up truck and he drove me to one of the most scenic look-out points in the world and he produce a picknic basket. Inside was canapés made of tuna, cheese and crackers, and tuna sandwiches and a bottle of wine. He excused himself for serving me tuna, but said that it was all the little grocery store had to offer.

We had a beautiful heart-to-heart talk about our future and our desires. I discovered more about him that day than I had ever known...and I decided I would marry him. Of course it took him a few more months to decide he'd marry me!

To All *Freepers* The BEST date you have ever been on!

I didn't quite "get on her" on the first date, but it was not too long after that.

Jeesh, these things sure get personal.

Friday, July 13th (yes, Friday the 13th) 1990.

Sitting in a local tavern after a slo-pitch game with some team mates downing a couple of cold ones after our victorious win, in walks my brother with one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen in my life. She was wearing skimpy black shorts and a hot pink top. They proceed to sit up at the bar when one of my buddies asks, “Who’s that gall with your brother?” I reply, “I don’t know but I think I’m gonna marry her.” After they finish their drink they stop by our table and he introduces her as the sister of his current girl friend. They mention that her sister (his girl friend) had to work early the next morning and didn’t want to go out, so the two of them decided to go with out her. My brother says they’re headed down to the local night club for some dancing and a couple of drinks. After they leave, I down my last beer, rush home to hit the shower and head to said night club. As my brother spent most of his time out on the dance floor with anyone (or thing) that would dance with him, this lovely lady & I spent the entire night talking across the table to one another. Finally as the night grew on I leaned across the table and kissed her. The rest as they say is history, we just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last April 23rd, and this July 13th will be our 15th year together. Not a day goes by that I don’t consider myself the luckiest guy on the face of the planet!

~8^)

I had hesitated on the "Worst Date" thread, because about my worst, was also one of my best... in the long run. Here's the quick version.

In college, I worked in a fancy restaurant... 2 levels... Bunch of waitresses told me Kathy was hot for me, and wanted to go out. I worked with Kathy on the second level. Kathy was Polynesian, HOT, and very smart. I finally got up the nerve to ask her out, and we went out for some drinks etc.... Ended up, ummm checking out the back seat while parked at the curb of a busy city street. At one point she looked up, and said " we have quite a crowd watching us". Well she didn't slow down, so neither did I. We ended up finally getting back in the front, and spending the rest of the night at her apartment.

The next day at work, a waitress asked me if I was ever going to ask Kathy out. I told her not to worry, we had been out last night. She said that was impossible, because Kathy was with her all night. I called her a name. About 2 hours later, she comes walking into the upstairs kitchen with this REALLY HOT redhead, that you could just tell was a firecracker.... I asked her who her friend was, and she said, "you idiot, this is KATHY, the downstairs waitress !!!!! You must remember her, as you were out with her last night !!!" ...... Ooopps

To end this story, Kathy ( the downstairs waitress) and I finally went out. And as of today, we've been married 27 1/2 years....
