I've been on a ton of good dates but I gotta say that the best one was my first date with the lovely and brilliant
Mrs. B. S. Roberts.
I was first attracted to her when she passed by me and was walking away from me. Know what I mean?
I asked her cousin if she was seeing anyone. Her cousin said no, so I asked her out.
We went to a pub for a few drinks before dinner. We chatted about many things. Turns out she was a Sci-Fi literature fan like me.
I then looked her in the eye and told her I had a question for her. I informed her that her answer would determine how things would proceed between us. She looked nervous so I just spilled it.
I asked her, "Are you a Republican or a Democrat?"
She flashed me a big grin and said, "I'm a registered Republican. You can call my dad right now if you don't believe me."
The rest is, as they say, hist-o-ree.

A particularly memorable one...
He picked me up in his plane at my local airport and we flew to Monterey for dinner. Down the coast - gorgeous...
We landed and he had a car take us to Carmel where we had a romantic dinner. Got back to the airport to fly home and on the way back, he dialed the SF Giants game on the radio and I got to listen to the Giants beat the Braves while flying over the bay at night.
Lovely....
Ok... my idea of romantic isn't universal... ;-)
