TCM has been playing a lot of Bogart movies in the last few months. I was never a fan until I started watching them. First time I watched "Casablanca" was a month ago. And Lauren BaCall is hot in "To Have and Have Not" (also seen for the first time in recent months)

One of the greats. I try not to miss any of Bogie's movies, now.

My dad. Except he wouldn't let me drink a
beer. Pepsi, Coke or root beer, fine.

He almost beat the Romans when they were still a big power. Kinda like the Americans who beat England. Just sit down and chat, drink a few beers, smoke a cigar, sacrifice a captured Roman soldier, the usual stuff.

I love Dylan, I have over 700 bootlegs! A couple of years ago I got to meet him.A guy I knew was the road manager for Asleep at the Wheel and Commander Cody, whose bass player is Tony Ganier, my friend Mac has known him for 30 years. Tony has been the leader in Bobs band for about 15 years now, Mac arranged for us to get backstage passes at a show in No. Cal, we hung out with the band and Rambling Jack Elliot and Maria Muldaur. I lent Maria a sharpie pen that I brought with me, and asked for it back, telling her just in case I meet Bob. She laughed at me and told me that she has known Bob for 40 years and has NEVER seen him sign an autograph...I told her, oh yeah-watch me!Long story short, I walked up to Bob and I now have a signed backstage pass AND a signed tour hat!!! my prized memorabilia!!!

"Robert E. Lee and U.S. Grant, together."

For a game of chess or for a chug-a-lug contest?

"Great list! Lee and Grant together? Can I come?"

If they start a chess game, I 'd advise you not to kibbitz.

An amazing actor. And if you've ever been a smoker, especially if you were a teenage smoker trying to be "cool", he provides a whole extra level of entertainment. Bogie was to using the cigarette as a prop what John Wayne was to the rifle, he had a total comfort with them and yet was able to make them stick out at will. I'm not a victim mentality guy, but I do think Bogie is responsible for a lot of people taking up smoking.
