Some of our most cherished memories in life revolve around sharing a drink with loved ones and friends. A fine bottle of Cabernet with your spouse on your anniversary. A 12 year old scotch with your father. Shots of tequila with the girl you've been after for months. Etc, Etc.
There are certainly people in our history and living today, that I would give my left nu.., er little toe, to share a beer and a long-winded conversation with. The following is off the top of my head, and hundreds more could be included:
LIVING:
3. Bob Dylan - my all time favorite enigmatic musician
2. Donald Rumsfeld - A real man amongst girly men
1. Mark Steyn - perhaps the most insightful, wittiest man on the planet
DEAD
3. Ernest Hemmingway - one of the few writers of fiction I love.
2. Ronald Reagan - The hero of our times
1. Ben Franklin - My alltime favorite historical figure.
Suggestions welcome!
I would like to have some pepsi with Dubya cause I dont drink either. :D
Good call. I hear he drinks RC though! :)
Whatever, I drink any type of soda. I'm not picky. :D
Just avoid Jolt before bed! :)
Ted Kennedy.
But I'll drive.
And I bet if God gave you some of his home brewed beer, it would be heavenly! :)
ROFLMAO. Make sure his seat belt buckle is super glued! LOL
Lincoln when he was a senator.
Do they still make Jolt Cola? I had it a few times when I was a kid. But haven't seen it in a long time... I usually drink Coke, Dr. Pepper, Cherry Coke, Mt. Dew and LOTS of water :D
LOL!
DEAD:
3. Johnny Carson
2. Einstein
1. Jesus
And, although you didn't ask, the person I would least like to have a beer with would be:
lol ~ see my post #13
You mean a congressman?
I've had to wean myself off of soda. I'd have a lemonade with W.
Top of the Living List is Fred What's His Name?.
Then there are dozens and dozens of others. Friends, old friends, and many writers I admire.
John Kerry is # 1 on my NOT list, followed by any of the Clintons from Little Rock, D.C. or New York.
Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was senator or congressman. A more relaxed time in his life.
Lincoln would make for a "long -winded" conversation, for sure!
