Some of our most cherished memories in life revolve around sharing a drink with loved ones and friends. A fine bottle of Cabernet with your spouse on your anniversary. A 12 year old scotch with your father. Shots of tequila with the girl you've been after for months. Etc, Etc.
There are certainly people in our history and living today, that I would give my left nu.., er little toe, to share a beer and a long-winded conversation with. The following is off the top of my head, and hundreds more could be included:
LIVING:
3. Bob Dylan - my all time favorite enigmatic musician
2. Donald Rumsfeld - A real man amongst girly men
1. Mark Steyn - perhaps the most insightful, wittiest man on the planet
DEAD
3. Ernest Hemmingway - one of the few writers of fiction I love.
2. Ronald Reagan - The hero of our times
1. Ben Franklin - My alltime favorite historical figure.
I do not know. I don't drink any soda pop at all.
yea, I like lemonade. I probably should switch to Green Tea, I hear it's good for the bones for something like that...
Good list. Mel Gibson huh? Hmmmmm.
Great. Patrick Henry, yes!
Snugs, obviously, from an earlier thread.....if not her...then Lady Thatcher..
Good old Fred.
I'm on a diet so I'm drinking Tropicana sugar free lemonade. It tastes pretty good.
Impressive. Winston and Benedict would definitely be on my list! :)
Both Snugs and Lady Thatcher would drink you under the table! ;o)
Hey, I like that you had G. K. Chesterton at the top of your list. Good call.
I'd have a beer with Carrie Nation, the leader of the temperance movement. She'd probably let me have her beer.
George W. Bush
Zell Miller
Laura Ingraham
John Wayne
LOL!
He died when I was 15 - I'd love to sit on the porch and share a beer with one of my favorite men of all time - and I'd love for him to meet my Marine and my children
No untoward motives in your selection of Laura, I assume?
The Duke. Absolutely. Better bring a spare liver! :)
I teared up. Lovely!!!
Living:
George Bush- He drinks an occasional non-alcholic brand
Rush Limbaugh
Ted Nugent
Any Special Operator
Any Cav/Attack Pilot
My Dad- The ultimate story teller (Happy Fathers Day!)
My Sons- Because they both owe me one DAMMIT! ;~)
Dead:
GEN Earl Rudder

Robert E. Lee and U.S. Grant, together.
GEN George S. Patton

My Father-In-Law, a GREAT American! (RIP Lee- Keep 'Em straight up there, Sarge.)
Well, she is getting married. I just think shes great. I love her show. If she turned me down for a social drink I would have to go with Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin or Michael Medved.
