Have you tried printing from "File", which is on the far left of your screen at the top? Right under "America Online"? Just above the mailbox icon.

Shut your computer down and reboot, re-log on to AOL and hit print.

I know you don't want to hear this - but DUMP AOL!!!

It's crap and has been for years.

They don't deserve the # of customers they have for the way they treat them and the incredibly backward technology that they use.

/sorry - had to get it off my chest.

Have you got print jobs backed up in the cache? Clear them first. Try again.

Just follow these simple steps...

1) Log onto your AOL browser, find another service provider and sign up.

2) Use your AOL disk for target practice.

That should take care of the problem. Oh, just one warning...MSN is not any better than AOL.

Solution: Remove AOL. Always worked for me on systems with similar problems.

Your problem is right in the thread title.

Get rid of AOL and you will have a better internet, more money in you pocket and people on the net will stop assuming you are a moron (because nothing says 'I'm a moron, kick me' like @aol.com).

I've never used AOL...thank God.

To at least try to answer your question, I'd say there may be some configuration settings for printers in AOL.

I'd call their 'Tech Support' to see if they can get you going.

Another important step would be to simply not use it. You don't need AOL to use the Internet. As a matter of fact I'd say AOL makes the Internet less usable is anything. Particularly for power users.

My mom had a similar problem, PurVirgo. When I reinstalled AOL on her machine she could print with no trouble. I would recommend reinstalling AOL if nothing else solves the problem.

you might be able to try this:

America Online versions 8 and higher:

Click on "Settings" then choose Preferences.
A second window will open with a number of options.
Select "Internet Preferences(WWW)".
You will next see 3 choices for graphics: "Always Compress Graphics", "Never Compress Graphics", and "Compress Graphics only when I do not have a broadband connection to AOL". Select "Never Compress Graphics".
NOTE: You may have to close and re-login to AOL for this change to take effect, even after clicking apply and ok in the preferences window.

America Online versions 6 and 7:

Select the menu that says "Settings" on the top of your screen.
Under this menu select "preferences".
A second window will open with a number of options.
Select the option that says "Internet Properties(WWW)".
A new window will open. Click the "Web Graphics" tab.
Select "Never Compress Graphics".

not much...good luck

Make sure your default printer is set to the printer you want. If you are running Win98 or 2000 click Start then select Printers from the Settings menu. If you are running XP click Start then click Printers and Faxes.

After you have displayed the printer dialog, right click the printer you want to be default and select Set as Default Printer from the popup menu.

This may not be the problem, but it's worth a shot.

Dump AOL.

Do you have Word? If so just hit your Print Screen button in the upper right hand corner left of the num lock, Caps lock, Scroll lock and then go to Word and paste it onto Word. Then print it. That should work. Easy too.
