The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Gooood morning!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!

I sooooo need a weekend. Must hang more curtains! Must paint another room!

The Red Sox had a nite off so we watched Phantom of the Opera. I have mixed thoughts about it. It was visually stunning, but I thought the pacing and editing was choppy. And as yummy (!!) as Gerard Butler is, I didn't think he was a strong enough Phantom.

And, g'nad, I saw another set of these on a truck. That makes three trucks now. I suspect the owners have dwarvish tendencies.

Oh that is funny.

Today is our last day of VBS until next year. I think elfboy is glad 'cause it means that now we can go to gramma's to go to 6-flags. All in all, the week went very well. The theme was "Safari Adventure." It was much better than the construction theme and "Rick the Brick" from last year. Hmm, I think I will take my camera today.

Must get coffee...

That's ok. It's Friday morning. Once the caffeine reaches our brains we'll be fine.

Got twenty minutes to finish waking up if I want to bike in today. Rosie's not up yet.

Thanks for the review of Phantom. Am gonna get it from Netflix, but we're going through the "Reilly: Ace of Spies" set first.

I only want enough caffeine to get me through to alcohol time...
