The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yep, RC was the dumb muscle, who wasn't really that dumb. Guy Pierce played the up-and-coming "golden boy". I think it was also his first big role.

They should be more careful who they hire. Or marry, as the case may be.

Yeah really. Some of those rich guys can do pretty stoopid things.

Are you sure Russell Crowe was in LA Confidential? I thought that was Guy Pearce, another Aussie, who also played in Memento, a truly odd film.

Or maybe it was both. It's been a while since I've seen it, I just remember I liked Kevin Spacey's acting in his role.

Both Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce were in it. And yes, Pearce was also the amnesiac in "Memento". I didn't remember he was from Australia, though.

Memento was a really good movie...

Guy Pearce was born in England, but moved, with his family, to Australia when he was 3, and grew up there.

I did not know that!
To: JenB
It's the kind of movie you have to watch a few times to figure it out...
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
It helps to get the DVD and watch it backwards ;-)

I once found a website devoted to the movie which listed the "proper" order of the movie scenes... that is, it listed the scenes in linear time from earliest to last.

Same here! Although, I like it less since they limited the forum section to "registration only". I don't like having to register for things like that...

Anyway... good night all...

I've never used the IMDB forum, I've only used the search feature.

Morning!
I got in.
'Course we run an exclusive Hobbit Hole....you have to be an approved member to get in.
hehehe....now I've got an image of hobbit gangsters showing up at the door: "Joe sent me."
I think I watch too many movies.
