Nope! The MC5 were doing their thing up until after "High Times" which came out in 1971 on Atlantic. Then in 1972 the MC5 broke up, and in summer of 1973 Fred, Michael and Dennis started the genius but short-lived Ascension project. After that broke up, Fred formed Sonic's Rendezvous Band and by late 1974 they had Scott Asheton, Gary Rassmuson, and Scott Morgan as permanent members.
They broke up in 1980 right after Fred and Patti got married... so it was a total 1970s band!
