All of the 70s retro-shows set in the 30s-50s had haircuts that were way too long.

I was just prompting for some sort of a "who'd dave?" responseRemember "Blind Melon Chitlin", the blues singer they had in the recording studio, singing "Goin' downtown, gonna see my gal".
"Hey Blind, baby, we got a thumping coming thru.....(talks to the other guy in studio)"Shoud we have him take his shoes off"? Reply: "He already has his shoes off, JR!" "OH! They look like rubber boots to me..."

I don't remember that but I do remember "Fred Sanford" and Grady trying to scam the library for some rare blues records that were worth a lot of money, "I want my daddy's records!".

And the girlies looked much better in those terricloth shorts.

Happy Days was especially bad in that regard.

That style lasted until the early 80s in Ohio.
Of course it was replaced by "jogging suits" as leisure wear.

Sgt. Pepper's The Movie, for example. Got your Bee Gees, your bad film making... The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton in the pastel satin, yikes! Steve Martin wasn't even able to save that one!
To: pissant
Yep. Do you wanna make something of it? ;-)

Fonzie didn't even get to wear a black leather jacket (too tough).
The movie The Wanderers (1978 or 79) is good though ("The 1950s ended in 1963") and is based on a book that is even better (from 1973) with the same title.
Much better than so many of those old "rock and roll" era films (like American Hot Wax).

All In The Family. Who'd thunk that "Meathead" (Rob Reiner) was an actual meathead, and continues to be to this day (with a lot less hair)...
