Which proves that even though hollywood is out of new ideas, the public is still eager to devour rehashes of old ideas.
Wow! There are actually 3 movies out that I want to see.
Star Wars, The Longest Yard, and Madagascar.
I was SO disapointed with Hitchhikers Guide. I've got a feeling that I'm going to be disapointed with TLY too. I'm just not a fan of Adam Sandler.

'Kingdom of Heaven' was pretty much awful as well.
Looks like Hanoi Jane's got the kiss of death. The movie will be out of the theaters in two weeks.
The weekend will tell if it has legs. Doubt if it wil beat TROTS.
The original was done on the cheap, but still not bad. I'll wait for DVD of this one.
Poor Jane...She'll figure out that she's a has been sooner or later. Even the reviews of the movie looked like crap.
We walked out of Hitchhiker's Guide. I've only walked out of two other movies in my life..."Spike of Bensonhurst" and, believe it or not, "Natural Born Killers." I don't like sitting in a seat and watching innocent people beg for their lives. I'm no prude, but I couldn't stomach that movie.
I love movies, but boy the last few years have really been weak...gotta love NetFlix...I have been able to rent movies that I missed originally and they have a great foreign film selection...only movie I plan to see this summmer is 'Star Wars I' and I will wait until the lines and kids and crowds die down...guess I am getting old...
I saw it yesterday and loved it. Its a good movie with no cheap shots and a bunch of great cameos and laughs. Its not as serious as the original but is just a plain fun movie. Not really for kids though, but most men will like it. Some women will.
I think it also shows that in the demographic that goes to movies a lot, Adam Sandler is extremely popular. I hang out on some other forums dominated by teens/young adults (no not those kinds of forums) and Sandler is considered a comic genius by many.
I couldn't believe how miscast that movie was! The only character they got even the slightest bit right was Slartybardfast, and I felt that he was still to "together and lucid," as well as way too young. Arthur and Ford were completely wrong. And I'm not talking about the "black thing." If they really wanted a black Ford Prefect, Don Cheatle would have been perfect. In fact, I could probably come up with 10 or more black actors that would have better fit the part than Mos Def. And the guy they got for Arthur seemed way too complacent, just blandly accepting everything that was happening to him. He had none of the manic energy (directed into confusion and panic) we saw in the book. And Zaphod? Finally, the "love interest" just didn't work at all.
When I read that they had gotten Alan Rickman for Marvin, I thought that was a stroke of genius, but they screwed him up too!
Zeor points for content or style!

Adam Sandler is hardly believeable as a former NFL quarterback ... Most QB's have SOME muscle tone.
ROTS should have a strong Saturday, we'll see.
premature
no, just smarter...
Jane Fonda's movie may struggle to get 10 million for the 4 day weekend.
