Cannes, France - Natalie Portman unveiled a new look at Cannes yesterday - a shaved head.
The 23-year-old, who is constantly name-checked as one of the most beautiful women in the world, revealed her new style at the Star Wars premiere.
But don't worry Natalie fans; she has only shed her locks for her role as a freedom fighter in the film V For Vendetta.
Star Wars creator George Lucas was one fella not put off by her new look and playfully rubbed her head.
Joining Natalie and George at the screening were Hayden Christensen and Samuel L Jackson.
But one of the film's stars failed to attend.
Ewan McGregor, who plays Obi-Wan Kenobi, couldn't make the screening as he is currently rehearsing for the upcoming West End show Guys And Dolls.
His absence follows rumours that the star had been unhappy making the last film.
Those who did attend didn't have long to lap up the festival atmosphere though - they'll be jetting into London today for the UK premiere of the sixth and final film in the saga. -
LOL. That I can live with!
They haven't IMNSHO
I got your back Aggie Mama. My wife has short hair and its veddy sexy!
Did teeny pay you off to harass me?
No you won't, not when it starts to grow back.
LOL. Uhhhh, I wasn't referring to me, just in case you misunderstood. ;o)
"but when I had kids, I decided it was too much effort."
First of all, having kids is no excuse to reduce the effort to look good.
Additionally, if you look pretty and feminine before the kids, I think it's pretty crappy to the husband to morph into the mom look just because it's not worth the effort it used to be when you were single.
I also happen to think that women who have long hair look more feminine. I am a traditionalist. Men have short hair, women have long hair.
You just have a nape obsession.
My plan is to keep my hair long. It took years tp grow it out. I don't want the "Dr. Mom" look. When I get old I want to have smooth skin and long, white hair anf have people wonder if I'm a witch. LOL!
Heck, no. I threatened to tell his mama that he spends all day freepin instead of doing his homework.
I'll be the judge of women. You stick to men, you turd.
I like not having to do the salon thing (puke), and the money I do not have to spend getting my hair cut. Mine is long and curly, so I can cut it myself. And, it doesn't have to look the same every day.
Don't go ripping any pictures of the Pope up now...
You know I have a valid opinion on everything, little urine man.
Haha. I thought she looked like Sinead, too.
remove the word valid, and I'm with ya toots.
Is anyone still here, or shall I take my toys and go home?
For a lot of women, when they get older, their hair thins out significantly. Trying to keep really thin hair long is neither practical or attractive, it looks terrible. I know a few older women with thin and thinning hair, and they have to cut it quite short. So hopefully there is room in your judgement on long hair for women to make some exceptions.
Personally, I just feel more feminine with long hair. I wasn't speaking to any kind of extenuating circumstance. Just generalitites.
Besides, some of my best friends have short hair.
