How to wear a mini skirt- when you dont look like a supermodel. (Okay, who does?) It doesnt mean that you have to hide your knees forever This season, get out there and feel the wind on your legs, its miniskirt season.
Wearing a mini says something about you- its feminine, and sexy in a way black trousers will never be. It doesnt have to scream, Easy! , but it does say, Look at me. You will get 45% more comments when you wear a mini- and this is a conservative estimate based on my research last Friday night.
Tips for wearing miniskirts:
Now, dont get me wrong., Minis arent for everyone. For those with long lean tanned limbs, stop reading. You can wear it with trainers and flat shoes and nothing else. I just saw one of these girls today; she was also wearing a tee shirt that read, If it wasnt for boys, Id quit school. So, there you go. For everyone else, mini-donning requires a little effort. And some confidence.
Fake tan
Makes legs look longer. And thinner. Nothing like winter legs with dotty shaved skin being transformed by a layer of fake tan. Try one of the excellent fake tanning products now available such as Clarins, St Tropez and cheaper ranges at the chemist and supermarket.
Nude Tights
Likewise tanned nude tights, and those with a bit of shine in the lycra are good, but only with closed-toe shoes, never the tights-with-toes look.
Fishnet tights
This is my BEST OPTION for miniskirt wearing- as it looks like nothing at all but is still not matronly and a bit sexy, and still fashion conscious. You dont even have to have shaved your legs today to get away with the good ole nude fishnet tights look. Fleshtone fishnets are indeed fashions secret weapon for legs in that transition stage between winter and summer.
Wear a Thong Panty
You want attention on your skirt and great legs, not your visible panty line. This should of course go without saying with all tighter skirts and trousers, but the double-bum is never good- invest in below-the-bum knickers or a g-string thong if you can.
Proportion
The new fashion trend of loosenesslooks great with short skirts. An off the shoulder top or ruched neckline creates a loose silhouette that counters the smallness of the skirt below. Tight skirt and tight top can look a bit, well
Great Shoes
The old rule, short skirts with high heels and long skirts with low heels (or is it the other way around?) is not a mantra- you do whatever makes you comfortable. I love tall girls in high heels, and short girls may well need to wear them for the height but still look real cute in flats and trainers. The sexy pointed flat shoes look amazing with miniskirts. Flat boots and a little denim miniskirt is a look that cant be beat.
Most importantly, be comfortable and happy in your style, and s m i l e. Remember that youre wearing the skirt and its not wearing you- nothing worse than Fidgetters and Skirt Puller-Downers, up there with Boob Tube Puller-Uppers
This article is crying out for visual augmentation!
ROFL!
WE need graphics of right & wrong here, please.
WRONG
No explaination need!
I know a few 50ish women who look great in mini-skirts.
Me too. With the right ensemble.
They forgot to mention (for a casual, fun evening) the mini with high heel boots.
Twenty-three posts before someone posted a pic.
Sigh, we're lagging here.
need=needed
I, for one, welcome our new Miniskirt Overlords...
There are no sexy flat shoes.
Bwahahahahahaha.... I hear ya, getting old ain't fun :-)
They most certainly are not! hehe
Great movie. Great actor.
Blah. I think both shots are ugly. Jeez. Pull yer frickin' pants up. Like I wanna see some broad's underpants shoved up her butt. Geeawd. Does it matter if she's fat or skinny? Not really.
Ain't much of a mini, neither.....
Well, any shorter & his manhood would be showing.
