The "Nazi" Pope was AWOL as well (and locked up).

Some people will rail against some other people regardless of what they did during a war.

Don't expect the socialist-secular left to be consistent. It is about tearing someone down. The end result is all that matters.

What is it about "I didn't think it was going to get quite this close," he said of the parallels between the Nixon era and the current Bush presidency, which has been sacrificing freedoms in the interests of national security. "It is just one of those re-occurring things." that you missed?

You can go extreme in a boycott if you want. For me, the only Star Wars film I will repeatedly view is the first (1977) and frankly I like some other SF films better (Ray Harryhausen for example).

"Empire" ends with credits but has no end. WAY too many lingering plotlines.

"Jedi" leaves an hollow ending because it is a weak film.

"Episode 1" has a major "boy races to save the farm" subplot.

"Clones" was weak although as with the other films, had that "Star Wars" feel. So do the Bond films. Some of them suck too.

This film will reportedly be more pointed in its political message than the earlier films.

Some may boycott bringing such propaganda into their homes. Doesn't mean that all Lucasfilms carry such a message.

As Senator Padme, played by Natalie Portman, watches Palpatine consolidate his power amid a rapturous senate, she comments disgustedly, "This is how liberty dies: with thundering applause."

"I didn't expect that to be true," Lucas said, then laughed. "It gets truer every day, unfortunately."

But, the money will still go to him and their executives and that means they can donate to the DNC. Same thing with Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. I'm not saying I'M gonna boycott the movie. I'm just saying that a boycott is a form of protest, and if you're not gonna protest both companies, then its kinda like Jean F. Cheri saying, "I actually did vote for the 87 billion, BEFORE I voted against it." Its kinda how certain teenage girls don't believe in abortion, but somehow, its ok for them to get hammered, plowed, coked up, and knocked up in the same night. Its almost as if the fact that they don't believe in abortion means that they don't need as much help as you think.

Lucas is certain to get some heat for his comments...USA Today notes how fans are turned off when politics creep into film.

You are correct, sir. If anything the latest Wars film should be a warning to the people of Iran, Iraq, Kosovo, and any other place that has suffered under the wrath of a dictator. If your people die and then America tries to help in any way guess what? You'll get screwed over by the rest of the world. Star Wars profiteers off of images of violence and young kids thinking how cool it would be to fly a crap wing and bomb someone. So it's cool to make movies about mass murder, but it's not cool to stop people in foreign lands from engaging in...mass...murder. I never knew how much the UN and Hollywood mirrored each other. The death of liberty and freedom? People we been seeing that worldwide in North Korea and Rwanda for all the years Lucas has turned out his crap. But there is hope. This is the last movie, and Milosevic and Hussein are off to the Hague. Despite all odds, faith and true justice manage. That's why we won't abandon the Kurds this time. Good riddance to bad sf crap.

I cannot because I saw it last night. Its funny because the theme of the movie is good vs. evil and freedom vs. terr any. During the movie the evil master of Darth Vader tells him that we rule the galaxy and then have Peace. Yes the bad guys believe in peace only after they rule over everyone. Sounds similar to Hitler, Stalin, Castro, etc... George maybe a Liberal, but he is actually pushing a conservative theme.

I think its awfully ironic how liberals who claim we are so evil, but they are making millions of dollars in the process. They preach communism why they practice Capitalism 101. Only in America can you become rich bashing this nation. In no other country can you do this.

When I want to see a movie but don't want to put money into the coffers of anti-american activists, I just by a ticket for a different movie and then watch the original movie.
