I believe to simplify normally means to factor the polynomial. You did so correctly.

I wish I remembered how to do it to help you - I loved algebra. (And I used to be very good at it, but never really needed to use the advanced stuff after I got into the real world.)

Maybe I'm missing something but helping a child on a TEST is called cheating and, in my opinion, reprehensible. Of course, I'm a teacher so my opinion is probably a little stronger than most - I hate cheating.

It says finals are in progress. It doesn't say this is on a final. It also says he ha the answer but can't explain how. Seems likely that this is a study problem. Why else would they have the answer.....

These are "sample" questions - similiar problems may appear on the real test. We r studin and figrin. We have some answers to some sample problems but you have to show (and know)how to get from A to B.
