DEAD BEATS DADS
Posted on 05/10/2005 6:51:23 AM PDT by sarah stone
How does this present administration view dead beat dads? I have received no child support for 26 months, my ex husbnd is a Greek Orthodox Priest who holds a valid Marriage Counselor Licence and Mental Health Therapist.

It still comes down to the old adage: which party has the best lawyer! Generally true. Getting a court order doesn't necessarily mean that it will get paid. Sometimes enforcement is necessary.
My ex & I worked out our divorce between us. Neither of us hired attorneys to represent us. I waived child support & in return, he paid my property taxes until our youngest graduated high school. He always paid the tax bill on time. Actually, he'd usually pay it early, so he could get it on the earlier tax year.

Don't know about the administration, but I view dead beat dads as sorry individuals who should have their gonads removed.
My ex has NEVER paid child support after 89 months, and ya know what?....I SUPPORTED MY KIDS MYSELF BY WORKING MY REAR OFF WITHOUT ONE PENNY FROM THE STATE!
BTW, 5 months here, and after making a total of 2 comments, you post a vanity?
Are you trolling for a zot ?

The Federal Government has no responsibility for your child support issues. That's a state/local issue.

The federal governement has little, if anything, to do with collection of child support.
It is a state-by-state issue, with generally the attorney general of each state being in charge of collecting.

If you knew my dad, you wouldn't even ask why I have to beat him.
He just doesn't listen.

First of all you need to go back to the court that had issued the order of child support order, and state that the father needs to be held in con temp of court by not living up to his responsibilities, then got to the state Atty general where you live and file a complaint with them on the grounds of non payment of child support. The courts will generally take over from there. In some cases there could be jail time for this [non payment of support].
But this is not a federal issue, but there are some in congress that would like it to be, there fore a further reduction of the states to govern themselves, and becoming more of a nanny state led by an all knowing, all powerful federal government.

I just find it typical of a liberal that she blames the federal government ie Republicans for her personal mess. No family or friends who can give some commonsense advice ? What's the point of this other than to have some fun with the nice people here on FR ?
If this vanity is for real, it sounds more like she needs a friend or therapist than an anonymous help service on FR.
