I hope this is the right way to ask this here
1) I've lurking here and rarly post , Normally I can navigate message boards with relative ease, but (at least for me) FR presents one of the more difficulte one to navigate. I mostly look at the latest threads and messages to see what current. How do the pro's here navigate FR?
2) Ok a lot of keywords added I get how some can see it relates :) but someone adds CARY to many unrelated posts, Is there a acronym I'm missing here?
3) When posting, on picking forums, where and how do I find these choices from the selections Specific Cheese, Moose, Sister cheese
Test Topic, Ignore It test
Focus Software focus Discussion and announcement of proposed and planned changes to Free Republic's forum software aka Focus
Free Republic Policy/Q&A policy
BTW, put on your Kevlor undies.:)
Are you logged in?
I sure hope so. The questions asked so far make no sense.
You lost me.
A guess would be that CARY is a collection of threads that appealed to one particular freeper.
*ping*
I navigate a LOT of message boards, and I can tell you that FR has BY FAR the easiest, most efficient and elegant interface of any of them.
I can't imagine WHAT you are talking about, if you don't think FR is a gazillion times easir to navigate, with fewer clicks required, than any other message board out there.
FR is to message boards as Vargas was to water colors, simply the best, the master to whom all other practioners ought look for guidance.
Thanks! And y'all have mail!

I agree- I belong to many boards, and FR is the gold standard... the Ubb and phBB based boards, even those customized, are poor imitations for speed of learning what you need to know in the news every day.
Some look fancier, but to get you up to speed in a hurry, FR is unsurpassed.
It's under choose topics when you post and if you don't type in the topic there is a button to press to pick from a list. included in the list is "Cheese, Moose, Sister cheese" I chose as my topics : TOPICS: Computers/Internet; Free Republic Policy/Q&A; Miscellaneous;
another question came to mind:
there seem to be two different search interfaces, one that includes the drop down choice of "keywords" and one that does not ?
I have used many , many forum boards and I stand by my statement this is one of the more difficult ones to use. IF a term is not in the title, or someone added it as a keyword, then search will not find it.
thanks for this!! there should be a link to this on the home page
also here basic html knowledge is a must to format posts , I stand by it's a lot easier other places , such as

I saved your links and have taken up your torch and help out gnu-b's as I can. I hope you don't mind.
I don't think this one wants help though.
